Kevin,
I've seen that you've removed my music from iTunes, but it's still showing up at Amazon.
To date I have not recieved the royalty payments requested in the above message into my Paypal account. Please effectuate immediate payment.
Secondly I would like to see detailed stats of my downloads/sales for the past year.

Time to goKevin,
with the introduction of a compulsory subscription fee of $10 a month for existing artists I've decided it's time to go. The original agreement we had was that you would get 10% of earned royalties per artist. If you can get my music to sell in such a way that it's earning $100 a month in royalties you would get your $10 no problem. I've had three albums in distribution at iTunes, e-music, Napster etc. through WaTunes for the past year and to date, since the initial payout months ago, I've absolutely no idea whether the music is selling, and if it is selling what's happening to the royalties.
I joined up a year ago because I simply wanted to distribute my music digitally and hoped, like most other independant artists that it might generate some royalties.
I see absolutely no point in turning this site into another social networking site. From where I stand it's a market that's been amply cornered by My Space, Facebook and the like. If the digital distrubition simply is'nt working I would prefer it if you had the courage to admit this, firstly to yourself, and secondly to those of us who have entrusted you with the distrubution of our music. You have my PayPal email address, so I'd appreciate it if you would transfer the royalties generated to date.

This is not quite clear to me Kevin. Are you saying that all artists, including those who's music is already available through iTunes, Amazon, e-music etc. will have to pay $10,00 a month once you get the new e-music thing up and running? – buitendebox, on October 29, 2008 10:21

Sales statsHi Kevin,
can you give us a time line for when artists will be able to view sales stats?

OK Kevin, I get it. One question remains unanswered. I've just been into my artist dashboard again and tried to upload a track. I'm watching this process taking place, and as soon as the point is reached that upload is complete the track just disappears instead of being added. What's the story there?

Quote:First FREE Week!
Hello everyone,
Starting today of the launch of our site to September 7th, artists & labels will be able to take advantage of our new services for free. Upon September 8th, we'll integrate the billing system for you to pay for our services. unqoute
Does this mean that artists who have already got their music on iTunes etc. through the former WaTunes will now have to pay to get the SAME content heard on this new site, even after Sept. 7th? Also,if an artist has already set up an album through the old WaTunes is it necessary to go through the setup procedure again for each album?
As a trial I just uploaded an mp3 of an existing album track twice and in both cases it just diappeared into thin air after upload. Any idea what's happening there?

If I understand you rightly Kevin what you're saying is that everyone needs to create a completely new account at WaTunes ( new style). What happened to all of the music that's already been uploaded to the WaTunes servers? If one already has music at iTunes etc. which was placed there through WaTunes ( old style) what would be the point in having to upload all that stuuff again?

Unable to log inHi Kevin,
I tried to login with my usual name and password but no joy. Also, I'm not seeing any of my albums on the site. In the jazz section there are are zero albums, though I do feel that my last album "Afar" is in that category. When will download and sales statistics be availble to already registered artists, and how does one access this info?
