Marshall Roch replied on April 10, 2008 22:03 to the question "What does the @twitter tag do?" in I want Sandy:
macman,
If you have Twitter configured on your Sandy account (see http://iwantsandy.com/settings/twitter), you can use the @twitter tag to override your default reminder settings.
If you don't usually want to be reminded via Twitter, you can turn Twitter reminders off in your settings. Then, tag something with @twitter to have Sandy remind you via Twitter just for that event.
Similarly, @email and @sms override your default reminder settings for those as well. If you say "remind me to move the car @twitter", you will only get a reminder via Twitter. If you say "remind me to move the car @email @twitter", you will get reminders via email and Twitter (but not SMS).
Hope this helps,
Marshall

Steve,
Sandy supports a variety of "recurrence" tags that will make the reminder repeat automatically. Here are some examples:
* remember Joe's birthday 1/2/1973 @yearly
* remember to take out the trash on thursday @weekly
* remember to take a shower @daily
Here's a full list: http://iwantsandy.com/help/guide#recu...
Hope this helps,

Dave,
Hrm, good point... Twitter lookups currently only send back 1 item at a time, because of the size restrictions on the messages. Unfortunately there's not a really good solution here... though we hope to improve the situation as soon as possible.
However, you should still have a better experience using Twitter for sending reminders and updates than you would using the secondary email.

Marshall Roch replied on March 11, 2008 22:12 to the idea "I need smaller return emails" in I want Sandy:
Dave,
You'll have better luck using SMS via Twitter instead of directly from your phone. Sandy's responses to tweets are specially formatted to fit within 140 characters. Using Twitter will also free up your secondary address for another full-blown email address you might want to use.
Hope this helps,
Marshall

Marshall Roch replied on March 11, 2008 18:29 to the problem "I do not have a mobile phone" in I want Sandy:
Trena,
When you say that it's showing that you haven't fully activated yet, do you mean that you're seeing the orange "Activate your account It'll only take a minute" message near the top of the page?
When you click on it, it should display a big orange box that tells you how to activate (by replying to Sandy's welcome email). If that's not the case, I'm not sure what's wrong.
If you'd still like to give Sandy a shot, email help@iwantsandy.com with "Attn: Marshall: I do not have a mobile phone" for a subject, so that I can take a look at your Sandy account specifically (Get Satisfaction doesn't allow us to identify your account automatically).
If you want to cancel, go to http://iwantsandy.com/cancel to delete your account. And feel free to give Sandy another shot sometime in the future.
Sorry for the trouble....
Marshall

Hey Trena,
No problem! The steps on the welcome screen are there just to help you and Sandy get acquainted and are not required; you can complete them in any order, or not at all.
Once you've completed all of the steps you want to do, click the link near the bottom to hide the welcome page in the future.
Hope this helps,

Please forward the error you got to help@iwantsandy.com so we can take a closer look. If you know how, include the email headers, but don't worry about it if not.

Marshall Roch replied on March 08, 2008 06:08 to the question "iCal private feeds like Google calendar" in I want Sandy:
Hey thorsten,
I'm not sure how Rael explained it, but this should work:
1. On Sandy's web site, configure your filters/search however you want it to appear in your iCal file
2. From the resulting URL, copy the ? and everything after it
3. Paste that at the end of your private iCalendar feed URL, so that you end up with something like http://iwantsandy.com/[my private key]/list.ics?filtered=true&tags=marshall&...

Marshall Roch replied on March 08, 2008 06:01 to the problem "welcome page" in I want Sandy:
Thorsten,
Sorry we dropped the ball on this thread... I'm trying to narrow down the problem now.
I'd be glad to manually override your welcome page setting for you if you'd rather just get it fixed and forget about it. Just let me know if you'd like me to do that.
If you're interested, though, I could use some help diagnosing the problem a bit more:
You said you clicked the "Don't show this page any more »" link at the bottom of /welcome, and that it didn't work. If you go to http://iwantsandy.com/settings and scroll down to the "Welcome screen" section, what does it say? If it says "yes," does it fix things if you change it to "no?"
Best,
Marshall
