This still seems to be a problem. I know it's on the list of things to be fixed, and I'm sure that it's considered a minor issue, but visible issues like this can tend to damage the image of a company (or service) if they happen over a prolonged period of time.
Overall, I'm less concerned about the bug itself and more concerned about Pownce's image.

Something that needs to be thought out though, is why Pownce over Rapidshare,Megaupload, etc.
As well what's the life of a sent file? 1 day/week/month/indefinite? Pownce will have to run out space at some point.
And if someone posts a file publicly which breaks the ToS, is there anyway to notify about it, to have it removed?
I just fear that people may start to use this as a major warez host, and kill Pownce. I'm NOT a whistleblower, but I'd rather keep Pownce alive, then have it taken down by lawsuits from RIAA/MPAA and such.

I definitely agree that the file limit of 100 megs for pro should be upped soon, however for the moment it's ok. Burka has mentioned that there could be a strong possibility of raising the file limits in the future. I'd say 20megs for users, ~250 megs for pro users.
what do you mean by 1-5 gigs? Gigabytes of bandwidth? Or the ability to upload 1-5 gigs? If the latter, the Pownce servers would certainly find it difficult to service hunderds, if not thousands of people uploading and downloading terrabytes of data at once.

Could someone sort out my problems? user: Ashlaws, paypal ash.laws@hotmail.com

yes definitly, I've always had problems sending large files to people, especially non technical people. It's more convenient then other files sharing services; which are for public sharing then person-to-person.
most people understand WWW and e-mail, they can't comprehend that FTP is for file transfer. And having to manage files on a webserver can be difficult; as far as how long they should remain on a public location.
plus, it's worthwhile supporting Pownce. it's a great idea, it follow the old adage, KISS.

yes. totally worth it for us as a music entity and here is why:
- customizing our page to match our branding is easy and valuable to our synchronized integrated marketing efforts across the web
- we send an mp3 every day to our friends in Pownce as a group. sometimes we will send large mp3 files to all friends.... and sometimes one special friend will get a string of mp3s like a mixtape from reapandsow music. these are drm free and beneficial to the artists we represent as we optimize the discoverability of their product (music). having the ability to send large files (video, too) helps us execute quickly AND guarantee creative methods (yes, we have the rights to promote these mp3s for all you legal eagles out there) ;)
in the interest of full disclosure, crazywanda does not have a pro account, but reapandsow does. reapandsow finds it quite useful and worth the cost at this juncture. if the price were to rise, it would be questionable. but $20 for freedom to exercise creative communication with our friends is well worth it to the reapandsow team, and to all the artists we represent in the digital space.

I'm very happy with my Pro Account so far, as soon as I joined I went Pro to basically support the Pownce Team and I will go Pro again next year if things improve, they're already starting to.
The new custom Themes option is a nice bonus for Pro users right now, Its going to be interesting to see what other features they come up with. If you paid for Pro, but your account does not change status, contact the people behind the service, they aren't out to rip you off and will sort your problem out.
Good Job so far Pownce. :D
