It appears I'm not the only one wanting a non-DreamWeaver template solution. Judging by the browser in the screenshot, I would say that "Simple Templating Tool" is ancient, but it does seem to do a similar job. Perhaps you could steal some implementation ideas from it: http://stt.sourceforge.net/stt.html
Oh that's interesting. This says it was updated in 2003 and written in Perl: http://sourceforge.net/projects/stt
Note too that the above doesn't specifically state its DreamWeaver compatibility, except to say that: If you use DreamWeaver to edit pages created with STT it will prevent you from making page changes outside of editable regions. (But if you have DreamWeaver, you probably don't need STT!)
So that implies a certain amount of DW-STT compatibility. Of course, I'm not sure how it handles relative links, as mentioned in my original post above.

Thanks for the suggestion.
It's a request that does come up every now and then!
We're trying to weigh the implementation effort (it would be huge!) versus the benefit (how many of our users actually want this?). It's also a little interesting, since it's doing something in a static way that could probably be done much better using a dynamic site / a content management system / even server side includes.
But we'll definitely count your vote -- and listen for others!
Thanks for your interest in Coda.

Wow, quick response! I've had intermittent trouble with "Reload" / Cmd-R in Coda; I spent a good 5 minutes earlier today trying to figure out why I couldn't see my changes only to realize I was seeing a cached copy.
I guess can't rule out a loss of my sanity, though. :-P – Lauren Herda, on July 29, 2008 05:43

Interestingly, Safari/WebKit is never supposed to load cached pages if you manually reload -- either by hitting "Reload" button or CMD-R.

I'm suspicious! I always thought holding "option" while clicking reload (in Coda as well) forced a reload. Is it a placebo? I'm going to do some investigation. :)

Hi Cabel,
I've already been waiting 4 days when I posted my question here, and it's been two days since you've responded and I still haven't received my codes yet.
I can't believe it takes Panic 6(!) days to process an order, be it manually or not.
Can you *please* send me the registration codes.
Thank you,
A.

The new product admin page is exactly what I was looking for -- thanks, guys!
One last question. I removed "Audion" from our Products page (since, technically, it's discontinued, and I was curious what would happen. :)). Now, while it is gone from our Products Admin page, it's still listed on our actual Satisfaction page. Any thoughts on why?

also, better product management for companies has now launched, beyond just changing icons. just go to http://getsatisfaction.com/panic/admi... and you can now manage all aspects your own products, including deleting.
for anybody else reading this topic, substitute your company URL for "panic" and you're all set. you'll have to be an admin for that company in order to be able to access that page.
