As those of you who saw my post above know, I had this problem too. After opening numerous help tickets, Luke (@lukester), from Twitter fixed the problem for me by clearing my cache (on Twitter, not the browser cache). Next time you open a ticket on this issue, ask Twitter to clear your Twitter cache and see if it helps. It did in my case.

I'm not an official Twitter rep but I think I can answer your question: it has to do with JavaScript. Every time you press a key your browser runs a block of Javascript code that does a few things (one of which is to decrease the count of available characters for your tweet above the textbox). On older computers, computers that don't have a lot of memory, or in browsers that are inefficient at processing Javascript, this will often make the text 'lag' until the Javascript is processed.
With other users, I've particularly noticed this problem when using either Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Internet Explorer (although, Internet Explorer seems to handle this well now). Try increasing your available memory by closing other programs or switch to another browser like Safari, Chrome, or Opera.
Hope this helps.-

Internet Explorer being misdetected by TwitterI have the latest version of Internet Explorer, but every time I go to the Twitter website, I am told I need to upgrade. Obviously, the site is misdetecting the browser or browser version.
OS: Windows XP/SP3
IE: Internet Explorer 8

I've had the same problem over the last few weeks and Twitters lack of response makes it worse. I've sent emails, @ messages, and now I'm posting here. How hard is it to post something that says 'we're working on it' when there are obviously multiple people having the problem?
Geez, Twitter, while you're busy hiring lawyers from Google, you might want to pinch a few customer support people from a good tech company to teach you how to handle customers; customers who you hope will one day help line your pockets with cash. Alienating them now isn't good policy.

Victoria,
That depends on what you're needing. Can you send me an email to papillion@gmail.com and tell me more?
Thanks!

Twilio developer available (PHP and .NET)Hey Everyone,
I noticed that some people are having a little trouble getting their Twilio based applications up and running and, as a developer with quite a bit of experience writing to the Twilio API, I just thought I'd offer my help.
I can work in PHP or .NET and my rates and turnaround time are very reasonable. Get in touch if you need help.

Anthony Papillion asked a question in MySpace on November 30, 2008 02:23:
Can't change MySpace email address!I no longer have access to the email account I originally signed up with (the domain is gone) and I need to change the email address associated with my MySpace account. Since I don't have access to the old account, I am using the "salut" method of identity verification where I've taken a picture of myself with the required information and mailed it to MySpace. But, instead of getting my email changed, I got back an email telling me of the different ways to change my email address (none of which, I can do).
I've been trying to do this for nearly 4 months now and am getting nowhere. Does MySpace even monitor those requests? What can I do?
Thanks!

Anthony Papillion replied on November 30, 2008 00:27 to the question "Audio to Text translations?" in Twilio:
I've worked pretty extensively with audio to text translation software and, I can tell you, even with a good audio source, it's not an exact science. Add to that the different variables that come into play with phone quality and it becomes a near nightmare. That's why services like Jott (www.jott.com) still use a hybrid human/machine translation system..
I, for one, would encourage Twilio *not* to support voice to text and let other people with deeper domain knowledge worry about it.
