Calrion marked one of James Wheare's replies in Last.fm as useful. James Wheare replied to the question "Can I syndicate my own real-time listening data?". Calrion and 2 other people think it's one of the best replies.

Calrion replied on March 17, 2009 05:43 to the question "What does section 8 in the .mp registration agreement actually mean?" in chi.mp:
Section 8 says that before the passage I quoted, which isn't an issue. If I don't delegate they show a parking page; said parking page has adverts that make them some nice coin, fine, everyone does that.
But "domain name path" implies that they're talking about more than the basic TLD; I'd really like some clarification as to whether this is the case.

Can I syndicate my own real-time listening data?I love the way my Last.fm profile page includes what I'm currently listening to in real-time.
I'd really like to include this data on my blog; is there a way--whether by RSS or API--that I can syndicate this data?
If not, can there be? Please?

Calrion asked a question in Last.fm on March 15, 2009 09:30:
Why don't I show up as a current listener on track pages? When I play music using iTunes (Mac) and the Last.fm client, I can visit my profile page and see that it shows I'm currently listening to a particular track.
However, when I visit the Last.fm page for that particular track (while it's still playing, of course), I don't show up as a current listener--even if I click through to "show more".
Is this a bug, or a privacy setting I've borked? I'd really like others to see what I'm listening to in real time--it seems to work for other users.
And just for the record, the hide real-time data checkbox in my privacy settings is NOT checked.

What's the difference between the free (i.e. trial?) and paid versions of Candybar 3?My Candybar trial should have expired ages ago, but nothing seems to have changed--I can still run Candybar and apply whatever changes I want.
What do I get with the paid version? (Other than a warm, fuzzy feeling... which is fine, by the way, I'm very happy to support small software developers!)

Calrion replied on March 14, 2009 07:53 to the question "paid domain question" in chi.mp:
You should be able to have whatever website you want. I don't see why a .mp domain would be different to any other.
The only way a .mp domain is different is that you can choose to use it with the chi.mp service. Of course, with domain aliases you can now do that with other domains as well, so I guess there's not really any difference at all.
Calrion asked a question in chi.mp on March 14, 2009 07:46:
What does section 8 in the .mp registration agreement actually mean?Section 8 of the .mp Registration Agreement says, in part:
"You agree that any domain name path that does not resolve to an active web page may be used by Saipan DataCom to place or redirect to a "parking page", "under construction" page, or other temporary page that may include promotions and advertisements for, and links to, Saipan DataCom's web site, Saipan DataCom logos, and/or Saipan DataCom offerings."
Does this mean that if I buy my .mp domain, and delegate it to my own name servers, and configure it according to my needs...
...that if an FQDN such as vwxyz.mychi.mp doesn't have a record in DNS (e.g. an A or CNAME) that it may be redirected as mentioned above? How is this technically achievable if I control the name servers?

If I purchase my .mp domain, can I still use it with chi.mp?If I go into my dashboard and actually purchase my .mp domain, gaining access to the ability to set its name servers, can I still use it with chi.mp by setting the relevant records appropriately?
I'd like to purchase my domain so I can use things like abc.mychi.mp, but don't want to lose the functionality that I'm getting now.
Calrion shared an idea in Six Apart on March 14, 2009 06:40:
Allow login/signup with an existing OpenIDIt's great that Vox supports OpenID, and I've been using Vox as my OpenID provider for some time, but it'd be great if Vox was also an OpenID relying party.
Please, allow signing up with an existing OpenID, as well as linking an OpenID to an existing Vox account.
Calrion replied on March 14, 2009 06:36 to the question "Is Vox an OpenID relying party (RP), or just a provider?" in Six Apart:
Well in the absence of anything else, I did a little looking. On the signup page, there's no option to signup using an OpenID, and there doesn't seem to be anything around the login area either.
So I guess the answer is: no, Vox is not an OpenID RP.

Calrion replied on March 14, 2009 06:06 to the idea "Allow users to sign up using an existing OpenID." in chi.mp:
Umm... I think you might be able to do that kind of thing with OpenID 2.0 Attribute Exchange, but I'm not entirely sure.
It's possible that part of the point of OpenID is that you only define profile attributes in one location (i.e. your OpenID provider) and that filters down to all the RPs.
Personally, I'm planning on using chi.mp as my OpenID provider (delegating my existing OpenID, that is).
A comment on the problem "Editing a contact removes Facebook link." in chi.mp:
I can verify this. It only happens the first time you edit a contact after importing; once you manually enter the Facebook ID it seems to stick. – Calrion, on March 14, 2009 06:02
