Actually, now that I think about it, your idea makes sense if the floors and or rooms ARE folders. Instead of "bumping a folder", a folder would be another room or floor. I think creating elevators might use too much resources but when you double click on a folder it could expand to be a new room.
Imagine you are on main Bumptop, double click on My Documents or My Computer and you sink till you have new bumptop room around you. It could have the folder name on the wall so you know where you are and a different color scheme. – car4dave, on November 11, 2008 02:22

Applications are already "pinned" to taskbar but I know what you mean.
I like the idea of bumptop, think it might be better for huge monitor in a boardroom or classroom. But if people find it useful then it is good. – car4dave, on November 11, 2008 02:11

What I want to know is how someone would use bumptop, do you actually play with files on your desktop that much? I don't and I don't even show the icons. In the last couple years I stopped using my desktop and started using menus from the taskbar and start menu. I also use Google Desktop and search for files. Between menus and searching I hardly use the Desktop or folders. I found Bumptop hard to use for something that I do not do anyway. I think it would be more useful if my screen was as large as the one they use in the video :o)

I think screen size is important, Bumptop would look better if my screen was the same size as in the video :o)
I am testing Bumptop but do not find it so useful for me, I do not use my Desktop except for from the taskbar. It does not look as good in folders as on the desktop. I think I just do not access my files in a way that I would need Bumptop.
