I had the same problem and my laptop is about a week old. I found the problem and resolved it. On the Keyboard, there is a battery icon on F2 and F3. If you hit F2, the battery will resume charging and if you hit F3 the battery will not charge. Hope this helps because it worked for me. Good Luck,
