In the hairstyle search I selected Casual Hairstyles / Length - Medium / Texture - Wavy and then Show Results and I got 4 pages of hairstyles in the hairstyles tab to choose from with 8 per page.

Did you search for hairstyles first? You use the Hairstyle search icon on the left hand side.
Worked for me. I selected the type of hairstyles I wanted and they showed up the hairstyles tab on the right hand side. -

I just uploaded my photo and it displayed in less than 10 seconds and so was able to then use as my model. Worked fine for me.
Try again, maybe your internet was slow at that time. -

I just tried now and uploaded a photo from my computer and it did so in less than 10 seconds. Pretty good I thought.
I can see the photos I uploaded in the upload tab on the right. -
A comment on the question "How do I upload my photo to hairstyler?" in TheHairStyler.com:
They way I saw it was that I could use my photo or the models photo. When I want to use mine I just upload my photo or select from previous uploaded photo on the uploads tab. When I want to use a model photo I selected one from the change model icon on the left.
