Cayman replied on May 15, 2009 05:57 to the question "Porsche's brand moving downscale along with their models?" in Porsche:
The simple answer to your question is: NO.
Porsche doesn't control the cars after they leave the showroom. The company does, however, provide a comprehensive range of top-quality sportscars and aguably the only true SPORT utility vehicle on the market. The high level of engineering in their fine vehicles, which therefore costs more than inferior car manufacturers will charge, prove that Porsche is NOT moving downmarket.
You might politely tell your neighbor that he should take better care of his vehicle (no matter what brand).
Cayman replied on May 15, 2009 05:25 to the idea "Apple should let your stream your iTunes library to your iPhone over 3G, EDGE or WiFi." in Apple:
Streaming sounds like a dream but wireless networks are a big weak link -- and cell phone networks won't have reliable bandwidth for everyone to do this for many years to come. Moreover, while cell networks are far from offering any "cloud computing", you can bet that they will charge you dearly for controlling your data if/when they ever build the capacity.
Still, if you have a good wireless network at home, there are many developers offering iPhone / iPod touch users streaming options. See also http://www.dottunes.net/-

Cayman replied on May 15, 2009 05:12 to the problem "Ordering FiOS? Good Luck" in Verizon:
It's pathetic to think that Verizon's customer service could be any worse than Comcast's. Are all media corporations in a race to see who can piss off the most people fastest?
My problem: Verizon floods my mailbox with flyers advertising a "triple play" package of TV, phone, and internet. I have no desire whatsoever for a land line in my home, but i would be VERY interested to replace Comcast internet and perhaps order a few channels of decent television, if that exists anymore. Long story short: Verizon hasn't figured out a way to offer a reasonably priced Internet/TV service. FIOS prices are within Comcast's by pennies, their TV channels are likewise bundled in a manner that makes decent programming for less than $100/month impossible, and Verizon doesn't guarantee high internet speeds any more than Comcast does, AND one can't use legacy equipment (routers, digital recorders, etc) with it. And to top it all off, Verizon's customer service has a horrid reputation -- not that the representatives are rude, they just don't help at all.
Tell me Verizon -- WHY SHOULD I SWITCH TO YOU IF YOU OFFER NO INCREASED VALUE???
Your management should be ashamed.-
