Jaiku now has unlimited invites for existing users as documented here: http://www.jaiku.com/blog/2008/08/27/...
If you don't know anyone who already has a Jaiku account then you can use this service to get an invite: http://jaikuinvites.com/need-an-invit...

In a blogpost earlier this month, Twitter said that the Replies Tab will now show @replies addressed to you, even from people you're not following.
Twitter's FAQ page on @replies has also been updated to reflect this. Here's the relevant excerpt:
All replies to you show up under this tab regardless of whether you follow the person replying, unless you've blocked the person, in which case their replies will not show up.

You can import contacts into Twitter from, e.g. GMail, and you can then Find & Follow (or send invites to) the results. You can import contacts into GMail by exporting a CSV file from Outlook (File --> Import and Export... --> Export to a file --> Comma Separated Values (Windows) --> [select file] --> Save As...)

If any of the people in this thread happen to be in Italy, it turns out that Twitter's sms service in Italy has been partially suspended due to cost.
By "partially suspended," this means you can still send tweets to update your account from your phone, but you will no longer be receiving tweets.
Here's the link to the official word from Twitter re: Italy.

Hi queenalene -- may I suggest that you post a new topic that's just focused on the browser problem, since it might be missed or overlooked in this topic? – mdy, on April 21, 2008 23:45

My husband and I both use Sprint and use texting all the time. He was able to get his phone to verify easily, but mine is not verifying at all.
I don't get any response from twitter or google. Google used to give me responses back until a few months ago.
Is it possible that Sprint could conditionally support short codes? or is there another issue here?
Also, on a different note, the way sessions are handled with twitter is quite dysfunctional. I log in to twitter in one browser while my husband is logged in in another browser and some of the pages inside twitter recognize me as being logged in while others like Devices think that my husband is logged in.
I agree with keeping the comments nice, these are humans we're dealing with and they're offering a free service. I, for one, am very grateful for the service.
