A comment on the idea "the registering restrictions keeps people off" in SoundCloud:
That`s exactly what I mean. All the other music portal`s where you can vote for the favorite songs - only after registration - are so stupid, cause most time it`s an artist himself.

A comment on the idea "the registering restrictions keeps people off" in SoundCloud:
OpenID or Facebook Connect will not fit in for nowadays users.
Commenting on a blog entry (even with high frequent visitors) don`t need a registration, there are several spam protection possibilities that don`t need registrations.
You could let decide the uploader himself (like you do with free public mp3) so he could decide if he can handle the "big amount" of trolls and spam. A good capture protection is all that is needed and in my opinion the only correct way.
Well, the other side would be that soundcloud would miss increasing registering people. But who wants the "one time commenters" anyway ... – Christian Alexander Korte, on September 14, 2009 15:07-

the registering restrictions keeps people offi would love to see a capture protection if someone wants to add a commendto a soundcloud rather then beeing forced to create an account.
I wanted to make an experiment with an unreleased song of our band and let others add their ideas or thoughts about it, but it failed as everyone blamed us that they need to register for doing that.
there is always too much registration everywhere, people get sick of it - not even a possible open id log in would hold people.
i really beg that soundcloud will be open for everyone - i don`t want advices from other soundcloud users or musicinas - i want it from my fancloud - not only playing (there are severel alternative players doing that)

i see a button on a blog with "drop your track"
I click on it, choose a file, fill in the needed fields and hit the send button and all i see is this fucked up message.
It happened the 2nd time (different place), so now I have to write it here. For what is the dropbox ment to be ? I don`t get it.
dropbox link i pushed on: http://echolot.tumblr.com/-

"Connection time out" error when trying to commentSorry
There has been a connection error. The connection has timed out.
people already write emails to me (it also confused some that they think they have to register for intensedebate to be able to comment)... who knows which ones didn't ...
I tried it by myself to add a simple comment, this really makes this product useless if that can happen sometimes ...
I let it in my blog for today so you can confirm, but i will remove it.

Now it's 2 month ago. It would be very helpful if you could provide at least a place where we could edit the sentences in english shown on the page as we want it to, no ?
Unfortunately I don't have any comments since I installed it on my german blog which doesn't mean it belongs to the installation of the plugin, but might be the cause ...

you know what i figured out with songbird: it`s not ready to be used as a local media player yet, there is a far far long way to be there. for playing media on the web it`s the best but for your local media stay with the rest :) – Christian Alexander Korte, on February 26, 2009 18:36

Feature request: disable filesHi,
Please add an optional checkbox column to enable/disable a song... While I know
you are not out to just copy iTunes, the lack of this one feature is actually
keeping me from switching to Songbird. As a kind of pack rat, I don't like to
delete any songs from my view, but I want the ability to quickly disable
(reenable) them. Sometimes, I use it to temporarily disable a song in a
repeating list, etc. There are many uses for this, so please, please, consider
adding it (even if you don't want it enabled for everyone by default)!! I have
a feeling I would not be alone in wanting this. Many thanks for all your
awesome and rapid work!
this questian was placed as a bug (15011) in bugzilla so i think this is the right place. couldn`t find a name of the asking person ...
