A comment on the question "is there a way to add past trips?" in Dopplr:
I managed to add a trip in 1990, but I did have to enter the dates manually; the dropdown in the date widget won't go back that far usually. However, it does seem to work. – Paul Mison, on October 07, 2008 14:39

Hi Tom and Celia,
I have the same thing with Phae's question #3 - I added a past trip about a month ago, and it's still not showing up in my map, or in the listings underneath the map like some of my fellow travelers have.
Should I continue to be patient (you mention it's lag)? How long does it usually take to synch up one past trip? I would love to input my past travels onto Dopplr (going back to 2006), but if it's going to take upwards of months or years to synch with the map, I'm not sure if it's worth it.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Katie

Hi there
So we can diagnose the issue, would you mind contacting us via dopplr.com and telling us your Dopplr username?
http://help.dopplr.com/contact/
(That's better for your security than telling us here).
Also, it would help if you could tell us *where* the travel stats are that you're looking at e.g. on your public profile page.
Thanks
Celia

I have a similar problem in that my google calendar events only show on my ical or when I use the HTML link. When I send the HTML link to my boss he can open the calendar, yet none of the events show up!
Similarly with the XML link provided by googlecal, the link works yet the events do not show up.
I have the sharing mode on yet none of the people I intend it to go to can see it!

Hi Philipp
In answer to your first question - we say 'them' because there is often more than one person in the list.
As to the rest of the question - it sounds like maybe you're not seeing the page as it should be (for example, there is a large box for adding your personal message on the right hand side). Would you mind taking a screenshot of the page you're seeing (the 'send them an email' page)? That will help us to diagnose the problem.
Thanks
Celia

Simon,
Thanks for your note. As the Dopplr x Monocle event was our very first one - and we'll be holding more Dopplr events in other cities - we wanted to tell more people on Dopplr about it.
In the future we'll send invitiations to a more targeted group e.g. for an event in Helsinki we might invite the people that live in Helsinki, are in Helsinki on the given day, as well as frequent visitors to Helsinki.
Cheers
Celia

Hi Deb
It sounds like you want something like our new feature for sharing trips. You can read about it here:

Yeah, I had to delete a multi-segment trip and start over in the meantime... kind of a drag, but looking forward to the fix!
I might also add that I'd very much like to be able to LINK to a complete multi-segmented trip, rather than just one leg. – Chris Messina, on September 22, 2008 14:52

Hi Phae - Tom answered your points 2-5 but I wanted to answer your first one, too! The answer is that Dopplr is at the moment built around trips that start from and return to the same place. However, over the next few months we'll be working on ways to make trips more flexible, and part of this will mean we have good ways of handling moving house. Stay tuned :)

Hi Luke
Sorry it's not working for you. We just need a bit more information to diagnose the problem. Rather than tell me here, for your security you might want to fill in the feedback form on the site. State the problem again and let us know your username:

Thanks

Hi Federico
It sounds like you're trying to edit a multi-stop trip - and the problem is that at the moment we only have very basic multi-stop editing. We know it's limited and will be introducing proper editing soon, so that you can do things like add stops to trips you've already created.
Hope this helps.
