Hi,
This is not a specific issue of Gmail. It's a common problem of todays email clients and services. Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL, Outlook, Thunderbird and several others "block" images until recipient clicks "display images".
Unfortunately, there's no way to detect the email open without sending data to Sendloop servers. This can be done in two ways:
1) Displaying the images inside the email
2) Recipient may click one of the links inside the newsletter
If your recipients click "Always display images of sender ####@####.###" option, this will not be a problem in the future.
Have a nice day.

Hi Romico,
You need to enter that SPF (and also DKIM/DomainKeys) record into your domain DNS zone. Let me give you an example:
You are going to send a newsletter and the from email address is going to be "romico@demo.com".
You will need to edit DNS zone of "demo.com" and add two DNS entries:
The first one is for SPF/SenderID. And the second one is for DKIM/DomainKeys.
Both these records should be entered as a TXT record in your domain DNS zone. You may refer to your DNS help documentation or contact your DNS provider support staff to learn more about how to add TXT record into your domain.
Let me know if my answer sounds a little bit complicated. I will do my best to explain it more detailed and step-by-step.
By the way, where is your DNS for your domain hosted?
Looking forward to hear from you.

In my experience, most marketer would put an opt-in in their thank you page before they're redirected to the downlaod/product page. This could be another way for Sendloop to "swap" the subscriber (campaign 1) to a customer (campaign 2).
Really hope your engineers can implant these feature.
Just another though that could give me a peace of mind :)

Hi Romico,
Interesting idea. Thanks for feedbacks. I passed this cool idea to our engineers and we will perform some tests to find the best and easiest-to-use method for this feature.
Keep an eye on our blog (sendloop.com/blog) or twitter (twitter.com/sendloop) account to get notified about new features instantly.
Romico replied on June 27, 2008 02:33 to the discussion "New Features?" in Octeth:
How about, we place a simple code (java script or something) in our thank you page. So, as soon the subscriber buy stuff and hit the thank you page, sendloop automatically detect it and began the swap process.
Sendloop also must be able to differentiate between customer that are not previously a subscriber and a subscriber.

Could you add a feature that some people called "swap customers", it's a feature where a loyal subscriber become a customer, and "swap customer" features automatically swap the subscriber from campaign 1 to campaign 2. Obviously campaign has all the sale pitch and campaign 2 contain valuable informations.

Hello kgoudeaux,
Sorry for the inconvenience. We are in touch with our data center ThePlanet.com and they just provided the following information:
------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Valued Customers:
This evening at 4:55 in our H1 data center, electrical gear shorted, creating an explosion and fire that knocked down three walls surrounding our electrical equipment room Thankfully, no one was injured. In addition, no customer servers were damaged or lost.
We have just been allowed into the building to physically inspect the damage. Early indications are that the short was in a high-volume wire conduit. We were not allowed to activate our backup generator plan based on instructions from the fire department.
This is a significant outage, impacting approximately 9,000 servers and 7,500 customers. All members of our support team are in, and all vendors who supply us with data center equipment are on site. Our initial assessment, although early, points to being able to have some service restored by mid-afternoon on Sunday. Rest assured we are working around the clock.
We are in the process of communicating with all affected customers. we are planning to post updates every hour via our forum and in our customer portal. Our interactive voice response system is updating customers as well.
There is no impact in any of our other five data centers.
I am sorry that this accident has occurred and apologize for the impact.
Sincerely,
------------------------------------------------------------------
Thankfully, our servers are fine and there's no damage. More detailed status update can be found at:

We apologize for this unexpected issue, we believe ThePlanet.com team and their great service. So, they will backup everything in the following hours and Sendloop will again be online.
We are also publishing status updates in our Twitter page:
