Chris Epler reported a problem in Motionbox on April 14, 2009 01:35:
Error 5xx Internal Server Error attempting to set long password.I utilize long site-specific passwords with very random strings. Attempting to set a 31 and 24 character password caused your site to throw an HTTP 5xx internal server error. You need to validate your input properly and perhaps give more information to your users as to the maximum length of the password and any characters that are not permitted.

Network Share SupportIt'd be nice if CrashPlan supported backing up network shares. There may be times where I want to backup a networked machine but don't need the full features of the client to warrant purchasing another copy for that machine.

Backup SetsAllow backups of a defined list of data to different destinations. I may not want to send 40-100 gig of photos to my dad to backup but I might want to send him just my documents which may be less than a gig...But to my colo'd server I'd want tos end all the photos AND documents.
Chris replied on April 10, 2009 02:37 to the problem "Authority server down?" in CrashPlan:
I'm playing with the free version of CrashPlan, having tried the CrashPlan+ version a while back. One of my reservations with purchasing this product is the reliance on CrashPlan to be around in order to use the product. What happens if CrashPlan goes out of business and I don't notice and I need to restore a critical file at some point? Reliance on a central server to restore data scares me...and it's funny because it's this non-reliance on other services that CrashPlan touts as a feature...hmm....
A comment on the question "Encipherment" in CrashPlan:
If you already have this in 'enterprise deals' why not bring it to the masses and implement it in CrashPlan+. Get AES in there, it's light, small and fast. Twofish might be nice as well but I'd definately like to see AES-256 in there. – Chris, on April 10, 2009 02:33
