A comment on the question "Delicious iPhone Library" in Delicious Monster:
Ah, another FileMagnet fan, hello! ;o)
My post about FileMagnet is in the thread you mention. I use it in a slightly different way, with individual text files per item - and it handles 3,600+ items quite happily. However, as far as I can tell the only way to export individual text files is by connecting an iPod, at which point DL automatically creates them in its Notes file, from where you can copy them to your Mac and then via FileMagnet to your iPhone. I've asked Will if it's possible (or will be possible in future) to export those individual text notes WITHOUT an iPod, but haven't had a reply yet. Fingers crossed... – Cerise, on July 29, 2008 10:21

Thanks Terry. To be fair, whilst being able to set the time frame would be kinda handy, I was perfectly happy with the 'Recently Added' shelf showing simply the last 'x' number of items (30, was it?). Ideally I'd like it to be more like the last 50 or 100 items, but I thought that it worked very well in DL1 as it was. – Cerise, on July 29, 2008 10:15

Ahh, that's handy - thank you. I hadn't noticed the little column editor icon (in list view) and the sort bar (in cover view). That'll help a great deal. :o) – Cerise, on July 29, 2008 10:13

Thanks Dan - nice! The FileMagnet display looks very similar, and whilst it has the advantage of being available offline, it doesn't have your rather handy search. Incidentally, your 'TV Series' taste is scarily similar to mine! ;o) – Cerise, on July 29, 2008 10:03

Return of the 'Recently Added' shelf?Hi, what are the chances of having a return of the 'Recently Added' shelf? I found it incredibly useful in DL1, to identify which items didn't get recognised properly, or picked up the wrong artwork (or not at all) - now if I scan in half a dozen items at a time I then have to search the library for them one by one to check on them. Please, please consider bringing 'Recently Added' back. :o)

Rui - thanks for the AppleScript tip, very nice! I really ought to get into Automator more. :oD – Cerise, on July 29, 2008 00:28

Will - ahhh, that's more like it - a shapely 9.3MB. I've just tried copying it over via FileMagnet but alas it doesn't display too well - lots of missing images, not alphabetically listed, all items listed on 309 HTML files that are named by shelf - it's not easy to find what you need. Am I right in gleaning from your reply that it's not possible to export individual text files at this stage, beyond connecting an iPod and copying it off? – Cerise, on July 29, 2008 00:27

Will, I just looked at 'Publish' but it only seems to do HTML to one of the two included templates, is that right? My published library took up 285.8MB (ouch!) and exported as numbered pages rather than named, one-per-item files. Conversely, my entire 3,600+ item library as individual .txt files is only 16.7MB.
Ideally I'd just like a simple text (.txt) file for every item to make the file size nice and light with no images - just like DL automatically does to an iPod - so is there any way to do that manually, sans iPod? – Cerise, on July 28, 2008 22:02

Thanks Rui, I didn't realise that script was there, I'm not overly into AppleScript. Just took a look and still not quite sure how to use it though - reckon it'll be best for me to stick to NTF, it's incredibly easy to use for AppleScript noobs like me! – Cerise, on July 28, 2008 20:56

Cerise replied on July 28, 2008 20:13 to the problem "Replicable crash when publishing iTunes library" in Delicious Monster:
I have exactly the same problem - 1,270 items in my iTunes library. I can publish everything except that one, but if I try to include it I get the same symptoms. Well at least I could, until I tried publishing a second time - but now I get the following error:
Unable to modify the folder Sites/deliciouslibrary on your .Mac account (undefined error. HTTP Status Code: -1).
After that, the only way to get it working again is to bring up my iDisk, manually delete the Delicious Library folder, and try again.
