I have actually found a workaround solution for now, using two things - an iPhone app called FILEMAGNET (http://www.magnetismstudios.com/filem...) and a Mac app called NAME THOSE FILES! (http://www.jonn8.com/ntf/). Hope this is of some use...
If you sync DL2 to an iPod, this creates separate text files for each item within folders that are named like your shelves, inside another folder called Delicious Library. Copy this from your iPod, onto your Mac.
Next, use Name Those Files to add a '.txt' suffix to all the files contained within your exported 'Delicious Library' folder and the sub-folders within that.
Finally, use FileMagnet to copy the entire 'Delicious Library' folder to your iPhone. Hey presto, you see all your shelves as folders and within, text files of all your items. Click on one and you can read the XML contents of that text file. No need for a connection to the web to view it once it's copied over (handy in our local Borders, where the WiFi isn't free).
One thing to be wary of is that it doesn't like over-long filenames, so do trim the exceptionally long titles in your library. If you find that FileMagnet crashes, that's probably what did it. The developer says he's working on something that will automatically truncate filenames, to prevent this from happening in the future.
I know it sounds long-winded, but it's actually very quick to do. And until our beloved DL team can look at the possibility of an iPhone app, it might just be the stop-gap you're looking for. It certainly works for me and my 3,600+ items library, and not only that but FileMagnet enables me to take other files (PDFs, Office files etc) on the road with me too.
Will, is there an easy way to do an iPod-style export of an individual text file per item for your entire library, without going via an actual iPod? I tried the various output formats but they all create one file (which of course, could be copied over just as easily - but I like being able to flick between the individual files, nicely alphabetically-arranged-by-title, it's very quick).
Cheers!
