Chad Blomquist replied on April 13, 2009 17:57 to the problem "ViDoop goes to correct URL, but doesn't fill in userid or password on certain sites!" in Vidoop:
It appears that both cox.com and oneok.com use a javascript-based function for submitting login credentials, instead of a traditional html form. The current version of the plugin has trouble detecting some of these form submissions, so it never asks you to save the credentials.
You can, however, add these 2 sites to your myvidoop sites list manually and get it to fill in for you. I just tested them myself and they work fine.
Log in to myvidoop.com and go to the sites tab.
The three URLs that matter are:
For each of these URLs, do the following:
- On the myvidoop.com sites tab, click "+Add New Password"
- Type in an appropriate name that you will recognize (Cox Webmail, Cox Bill, etc)
- Type in your username, then type in your password and verify it
- Add the exact URL of the login form. You should be able to copy and paste the three URLs I added above
- If you would like to be able to use these passwords from any computer, check that box, and click save
After you have added these three sets manually, they should be automatically filled for you the next time you go to those webiste. Navigate to one of them, or click refresh if it is already open. It should fill in the username and password for you.
This method won't work on every website, but it does for some. Let us know if this doesn't work, and we'll try to help you.
Chad Blomquist replied on March 06, 2009 19:42 to the question "Why does Twitterfeed send me back to Myvidoop.com?" in Vidoop:
Twitterfeed uses OpenID Providers (myvidoop.com for example) to handle the account authentication for them. Any time you log in to twitterfeed.com, you will be redirected to your OpenID provider's website for the authentication step. Assuming your authentication goes well, you will be sent back to Twitterfeed.com and be logged in.

Is the phone in question a land-line or mobile?
If it is a mobile phone, it could be a reception/signal-strength problem. If this is the case, a text message might be a more reliable solution.
Either way, if you can give us some more information we might be able to figure out what's going on and help with a solution.

I like the auto-sync feature you described. We'll definitely discuss this going forward.
In the meanwhile, if all you want from myVidoop is an OpenID that provides secure storage in the cloud, you can accomplish that at present, though not quite as conveniently as you described.
Uninstall the plug-in (on either browser) and point your browser to our Add Password Bookmark page. This "bookmarklet" can be used to easily add site credentials to your myVidoop site's tab without the auto-fill features of the plug-in. You'll not have the clean auto-update-the-browser's-manager feature, but at least you can store things conveniently.

Chad Blomquist replied on September 17, 2008 22:30 to the question "plugin not working for ie7...?" in Vidoop:
First, let me apologize for the delay in response. Your question coincided with the bulk of Vidoop employees moving across the country from Tulsa, OK to Portland OR and your post fell through the cracks. Sorry!
The plugin should work in IE7 on a Vista machine, assuming IE is truly running in protected mode. The dialog box you are seeing spawns as a result of an IEIsProtectedModeProcess() Vista API call returning FALSE. If you are confident that protected mode is on and you're still getting this message, let us know and we'll try to help.
From personal experience, being in protected mode requires that UAC be enabled, which I can understand might be frustrating to many Vista users. Also, if you navigate to a website that is in the "trusted sites" list, a completely new IE process is spawned with protected mode turned off.
Anyway, we're painfully aware of the problem with IE in protected mode and are working on a solution. Stay tuned!

A comment on the problem "I just downloaded Firefox 3, and my passwords are gone!" in Vidoop:
Have you installed the latest plugin (version 1.0.11)? A couple of the comments in this thread have mentioned how to check, and where to get the newest version.
If you are running 1.0.11 and are still having problems, please let us know and we'll try to figure out what's wrong. – Chad Blomquist, on June 30, 2008 15:51
