Jeff Jacobson replied on January 16, 2009 20:14 to the question "Is the search summary suseptible to spam?" in AboutUs:
Alright, just to make sure I get it:
Since AboutUs offers a wiki setup with a history of changes, one can see how the summary has developed. Alternately, google uses a comment system and a promotion system. While from the user end google's comment system seems functionally similar to AboutUs' wiki summary, what keeps the wiki summary of quality is a QA of edits.
If I've got that right, then it prompts another question: are search result rankings influenced at all by the summaries that have been attached?

Is the search summary suseptible to spam?I stopped by AboutUS for WikiWednesday and was shown the new search feature with added wiki content. It looks like Google has implemented a similar feature but is fighting spam and misinformation by limiting the distribution of the wiki additions. How is AboutUs working to keep the search results from being corrupted by spam and similar misinformation?

twitter & accessibility: dream or reality? Is it possible to make twitter a screen reader accessible inclusion in a web site? Is it already in an accessible format?
I'm trying to make my site as accessible as possible.
