Hey,
at first: Thanks to your introduction to the terminal :) You recommend to reinstall songbird, not using the deb. file. But as I do so, I lose all ratings of my songs again. It is pretty much work to rate everything again...
Is there the possibility to save my library, including the ratings, before I delete songbird?

Sorry, I'm kind of new to using Ubuntu, though i don't really get how the OS works.
The instruction to set up the profile manager says " /home/username/Songbird/songbird -ProfileManager & ". As I give this to the terminal the answer is "no such file or directory". As I checked, there really is no songbird directory^^. I installed it via a debian package from "unter-hund".
how do I activate that profile thing^^?

Hey,
I have the same problem too. Since more than one week my Ipod Classic 120gb doesnt show up in songbird.
I use Linux, Ubuntu 9.04 (the problem also existed before the update, I was using Ubuntu 8.10 before, where it was working 2 weeks ago :( ). I deleted the folder "ipod_control".
The iPod resets, but it still wont show up in songbird. Reinstalling the Ipod device support plug in had no effect.
Further suggestions are welcome ;), but perhaps it is the plugin, that is not working out...

Do you use Linux? I do, and in my option menu, there is no Itunes Importer :( Only the Itunes Theme for Gonzo...
Please help! New rating my collection would be a torture.....
PS: I tried to reinstall that addon, but i can't, the install button is grey :(

missing features in Songbird: Albumrating, better now playing, Store, Party Playlist, library import from (xml) fileHey!
I love this new music player, because it is even now the best I've ever used!
But there are some features I'm still missing:
- Album Rating
- possibility to say what a key does, example: double klick to add the song to the now playing playlist
- Use Jamendo as a Store (there is an addon, but it is bad :(
- Random playlist (like Partylist in Itunes)
By the way, I have a problem to get my ratings from my old Itunes. I've switched to Ubuntu, so Songbird does not see that I've Itunes in Windows XP. Is there a way to just pick the ituneslibrary.xml to import the ratings? The actual Addon doesn't do the Job. Even emulating Itunes via wine doesn't work.
- Importing directly from the (xml) file
Thats it :) I'm looking forward to the next version of my favourite media player :)
