David Chartier asked a question in Pixelpipe on October 16, 2009 15:18:
Does Pixelpipe support Tumblr photosets?Does Pixelpipe support Tumblr photosets, where multiple images are added to a single post? Or, when sending multiple photos at once, is each photo sent as a separate post? Here is Tumblr's photosets announcement post from this summer: http://staff.tumblr.com/post/13357345...
David Chartier replied on October 15, 2009 14:40 to the question "When are you implementing Oauth?" in HootSuite:
At this point I don't know whether I should even bother considering HootSuite anymore. The continued lack of OAuth support, or generally any kind of concern for user privacy or password protection, speaks volumes about the company's interests. It's a compelling product, but it sacrifices even the most basic security precautions in favor of flashy new features and gaining market share. Three cheers for social media.

So you have to use one or the other? You can't offer both during some kind of transitional period? What about presenting a warning when un/pw users log in that "Hiya, in a month we're turning off un/pw support and switching 100% to OAuth. Please go through the OAuth process now so you're ahead of the curve!"
David Chartier asked a question in Ping.fm on July 29, 2009 23:14:
Are you planning to support OAuth?OAuth is a crucial new tool for protecting user privacy, allowing us to use your service without compromising our account passwords. Can you discuss your plans to support OAuth for any services, like Twitter, that offer it as an alternative to handing over our passwords?

Please offer a Tumblr plugin/script.Could you offer a Tumblr plugin or script? It's a fairly popular service and users have complete control over their themes.

David Chartier asked a question in Tumblr on July 15, 2009 16:47:
Can you add edit buttons on posts from our secondary blogs?I love being able to visit any live post while logged in, then clicking Tumblr's "edit" button to make a quick change. Could you add this feature for our secondary blogs (the extra blogs we can create on the same account)?
David Chartier replied on July 15, 2009 15:10 to the idea "Auto-Complete Twitter Names" in atebits:
I came to love the way DestroyTwitter (yes, an AIR client; crazy) and others handle this. The auto-complete UI only appears if you type an @ with a letter immediately behind it. Then a menu pops up to start finishing the name. Hit enter to select and insert it it with a single space after the name, and keep typing your message, or type another @ and begin the process over to add more than one name. Non-intrusive, very intuitive. The same behavior and menu could be called in Tweetie by beginning a message with a "d" and a space.

No, do it. That was funny. – David Chartier, on July 10, 2009 21:21

David Chartier replied on June 05, 2009 13:02 to the problem "Cannot add MobileMe even though credentials are correct" in Pixelpipe:
Hi Brett, sorry to say but MobileMe still refuses to be added as a pipe. I am told my credentials are invalid even though I know they are correct (MobileMe sync is working fine on my Mac, and I can log into me.com as well).
Question: how does PixelPipe handle special characters for adding third-party services? I use a couple such characters in my MobileMe password. Could that be causing the problem?

David Chartier replied on May 15, 2009 17:26 to the question "When are you implementing Oauth?" in HootSuite:
I worry that this is a dangerous approach. New features are always great and appreciated (I donated a little while ago, FWIW), but not at the expense of security. It may be commonplace for the masses to fork over their passwords to all sorts of great web services, but that doesn't make it right, and it is a dangerously insecure habit. I wish you luck on getting OAuth implemented soon.

David Chartier shared an idea in Realmac Software on May 01, 2009 16:37:
Let us snap directly into a collectionIt would help our organization-fu tremendously if we could create a new collection, select it, minimize/hide LittleSnapper, and then every snap we make is added directly to that new collection. Perhaps this needs to be an option and not a default, un-adjustable behavior, but this would be incredibly useful in situations where we need to snap many shots of different aspects of an application's behavior, different modes of a website, and different products or media throughout the day. Having to root through the library for snaps to organize post-snapping process can be a pain.
