David Chartier marked one of Anthony Eden's replies in chi.mp as useful. Anthony Eden replied to the idea "Please adopt login standards like OAuth so we don't have to give you our service passwords".
David Chartier shared an idea in chi.mp on March 19, 2009 22:08:
Please adopt login standards like OAuth so we don't have to give you our service passwordsIt isn't easy right now since these standards are disparate and emerging. But being an identity management service, I hope you can understand our request for not having to fork over our sensitive login credentials.
A comment on the question "Please prevent scrolling to the top when new tweets arrive" in Destroy Today:
That's kind of a confusing feature. Makes it sound as though it *only* prevents scrolling after I actually post a tweet, and not while I am simply reading tweets throughout the day. – David Chartier, on March 11, 2009 19:34

A verb and name change could solve some problemsThe generally accepted verb form of "to post to Twitter" is "tweet," not "twit." You could get in better line with Twitter's unofficial lingo and avoid confusion with Leo and the TWiT network by changing your name and switching to a different URL—tweetlonger.com appears to be available.
David Chartier asked a question in Destroy Today on March 11, 2009 13:32:
Please prevent scrolling to the top when new tweets arriveIt would help a lot if you could add a feature (or at least an option) to prevent scrolling when new tweets are added. A lot of users like to read Twitter chronologically, so having to scroll back to where we were upon each refresh is really tedious and time consuming.

A comment on the idea "My 2009 wishlist for Brightkite" in Brightkite:
You can enable that in the Brightkite app's settings. It's off by default. – David Chartier, on January 01, 2009 20:23

I would definitely love to be able to do more with places. Rate them, reviews, mark them as "want to visit," create meetups with iCal reminders, etc. Basically, gobble up everything Whirrl and Meetup are doing so Brightkite can become about both people *and* places.
With that, I would also love to be able to use Brightkite as a sort of gallery for what I've done at a place. For example, I wish I could link my family and friends to something like brightkite.com/people/chartier/gallery/chicago to show them all the photos and notes I've posted in Chicago, IL. Going farther down this train of thought, it would be great to customize this, so I could create an event/album/gallery name, like "Dave Matthews Concert," and collect all the photos and notes I posted for that evening, including stuff from dinner, notes posted earlier in the day about being excited to go, etc.
I'm not sure how the UI and functionality would work for creating these, but I think it could be summarized easily: Brightkite can be about three things: people, places, and events.-

Support for MobileMe?Could you add support for MobileMe to the website and, especially, iPhone app? It would be great if you could include the ability to specify an album from the website for mobile uploads to be added to.
David Chartier shared an idea in Ping.fm on October 08, 2008 19:45:
Please create better tools for postingI think Ping.fm needs better desktop tools for posting from the major OSes, not just web tools like iGoogle gadgets and AIM bots. It would also really help if these tools are home-grown and maintained, and not just encouraged out of the third-party community. Third parties inevitably never receive any gratitude for their time, so the tool languishes while the service moves on with new features and updated APIs.
Browser windows are fun and all, but tools like Dashboard widgets and menubar apps for Mac OS X, as well as System Tray utilities for Windows, which can be called with keyboard shortcuts and integrated into other desktop software, are much more useful for interacting with services like Ping.fm.
David Chartier replied on September 08, 2008 12:55 to the question "Pictures taken from LifeCast should go into iPhone "Photo Albums"" in Sleepydog:
I've seen this as a pretty common request for any app like LifeCast that can shoot pictures and publish them somewhere. It sounds to me like most users want the app to save any photos they shoot to the iPhone's Camera Roll album. Maybe you could just make it something that LifeCast simply does, without the need for a pref.
