Ack, you're right. We made a change recently to cause misbehaved search engines to not get a huge rash of 404 errors when they crawl the site, and this was caught in the crossfire. It should be fixed now.

We were using Duncan Mackenzie's XBox Live REST API, but it seems to be offline. We're exploring some other options, though they are less clean!

The service that provided our XBox data has gone offline recently. We'll have a replacement pushed pretty shortly (with some other goodies, too!)

The Last.fm connection problem is new - I'll check it out ASAP.

This is a problem that we'd thought we'd had fixed, but it seems to have reared its ugly head again. We'll see what we can do to get it addressed.

Interestingly, this problem always seems related to the "perfcangel.blogspot8419" account. We're not quite sure what's special about it, yet, but we'll find out.

At the moment, no, you can't. We have administration tools that we use to periodically find and eliminate spam accounts, but community moderation would likely be a good thing here. I'll get it added to the roadmap!

We hear you! We're moving the sign in/sign out functionality into the header in our next revision. You should find it far easier to get ahold of in the future. :)

You're right, the navigation is rather lacking in this regard. We are working on redesigning some major portions of the site, this bit included.

Hi Marco --

The reason there's some delay is that we have to manually check every user's Last.fm profile for new "loves". Last.fm doesn't send any message to blippr when you indicate that you love something, and we can't be polling all the time due to Last.fm's terms of service and technical limitations.

We are looking at ways of improving the turnaround time, though, and do apologize that you find this frustrating. We'll continue to work to make it better.

We have a "smartphone optimized" version of blippr that should work with most smartphone browsers; we don't have platform-specific apps yet (though we're working on them!). If you aren't getting the optimized version in your smartphone browser, if you can obtain your smartphone browser's user agent, we can fix it up. :)

Hi Rishabh,

If you join blippr with an email, or you join with a service that shares your email as a part of your profile, then we use that information to look up a Gravatar that you might have already set and use that.

Additionally, if you sign up using Facebook, Twitter, or a similar service, they will sometimes share your avatar with us as a part of the login procedure, so we go ahead and pre-load that so that profile integration is quick and painless.

Our hope is that you can dive right in and start using blippr without having to wade through all the normal tedious profile set-up processes, so you can get right to the stuff you are really interested in. :)
