I agree, we need to be able to change them - maybe select the poster you want from a list of what IMDB has on offer? It's especially annoying when Boxee picks foreign movie posters - amongst my collection I currently have "La Vie de Brian" (Monty Python's Life of Brian), "Las Vegas Parano" (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) and "Bruce Allmächtig" (Bruce Almighty).

Good shout, works on linux too! They've moved to a flash player like the BBC iPlayer. – chezzo, on April 04, 2009 11:29-

Better navigation through photosOn Facebook, when looking at photos, clicking on the current photo automatically takes you to the next one in the album. You can also use the arrow buttons on your keyboard to go back and forward through photos. I keep expecting this to be the case on Dailybooth too, and am constantly clicking on photos because I expect to move to the next one, and I'm sure other people do the same, just because Facebook is so widely used. At the moment, though, clicking on a photo just reloads the page.

probably less "over-zealous lawyers representing ignorant companies" than lawyers just doing their jobs and trying to prevent illegal ripping of dvds
i'm not saying i don't agree with making backups of dvds, or that i've never done it, but it would be risky for boxee to include it as a feature
in addition, i think boxee should just stay as a media manager and player... want other features? use other programs.
chezzo replied on February 22, 2009 17:41 to the idea "Reading E-Mails in Boxee" in boxee:
i think boxee should be kept as a media center, extra "features" like this will only add bloat, take up development time and probably not be all that useful... i can't really see any reason why i'd want to check my emails on the tv, especially since replying would be near impossible using a remote control

Option to sort a certain TV Show by DVD orderthetvdb.com has a rigid rule that all TV shows will be listed in the order they were aired. However in some cases, such as for the TV show "Firefly", the broadcaster showed them in completely the wrong order, and the "correct" order is actually the one in which they are listed on DVD (filed in thetvdb under "DVD Season" and "DVD Episode Number". Boxee should have an option to list a TV show in its DVD order instead.
(Also, I noticed that for Firefly, and the same thing may be true for other shows, in some cases where episodes are joined together into one for the DVD, their DVD episodes are denoted by decimal points. Thus the double-bill premier episode "Serenity", which was split and shown as Episodes 11 and 12 in the broadcast order but was joined and listed as Episode 1 on the DVD, has DVD Episodes 1.1 and 1.2. I don't know if Boxee can recognise this notation already, but it needs to be able to.)
chezzo replied on February 21, 2009 11:21 to the idea "How about we PAY for Hulu on Boxee?" in boxee:
nice point, giyad, but i suspect it's only a matter of time before the content suppliers try to get Hulu pulled off all set-top boxes
there was a post on engadget the other day about how tv companies are considering allowing access to some tv shows online only if you supply your cable subscription details... so you may see hulu turn up on boxee again at some point in the future but under that kind of condition

Shows with no episode names don't need to say the episode number twiceIf a TV show's episodes don't have names, but are only referred to as "Episode 1", etc. then in the Boxee menu they are referred to as "Episode 1: Episode 1" and so on.
Boxee should be able to realise this, and just say "Episode 1".

TV shows with only one season don't need a season menuIf I only have the first season of a TV show, and especially if only one season exists (Boxee can easily find this out from thetvdb) then I don't exactly need to select "Season 1" from the menu when I want to watch it.
