This happens when the "Favorite" link is clicked before the page is fully loaded: you'll be brought to the signup page but since you're already logged in, you're redirected back to the slideshow -- hence the illusion of a reload.
I've deployed a fix. Now if "Favorite" link is clicked before the page is fully loaded the "reload" won't happen. But to favorite the slideshow, you'd still need to wait for the rest of the page to load. -

Hi the resizing problem should be fixed. The next time you upload your group logo, it shouldn't crop off anymore.
