A comment on the question "Exception "PAL_ERROR" on HTC Touch Pro2 with WinMo 6.5.1 EnergyROM" in Dale Lane:
imho and measured against my preferences, the HTC Touch Pro2 is a great device:
+++ Positive: Keyboard, Size of Screen, WM6.5 ROM available (original ROM not yet tried out).
Reception is very OK to me.
--- Negativ: Thickness of device, battery life

Exception "PAL_ERROR" on HTC Touch Pro2 with WinMo 6.5.1 EnergyROMHallo Dale,
Sorry to report, that I also do have a problem to continue using my favourite personal Wiki on my HTC Touch Pro2. To overcome several limitations and bugs of the original ROM, I have upgrade to a custom built ROM. But unfurtunately my vital bLADE Wiki is now having a problem. Just after restart, it shows the following exception:
bLADE Personal Wiki.exe
Exception
bei Microsoft.AGL.Common.MISC.HandleAr(PAL_ERROR ar)
bei System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowser.Navigate(Uri url, String targetFrameName)
bei Windows_Mobile_Wiki.WikiForm.setCustomDir()
bei Windows_Mobile_Wiki.WikiForm.identifyStore()
bei Windows_Mobile_Wiki.WikiForm..ctor(String[] args)
bei Windows_Mobile_Wiki.Program.Main(String[] args)
I'm well aware, that such a non Original ROM may give problems, but it has enormous advantages in terms of stability and performance.
May I beg you, to have a look at the problem?
Note the following:
- WinMobile 6.5 Professional
- PIE something very new, didn't find a version identifier yet ... ;-)
- Opera
- OS Version 5.2.21864 (21864.5.3.0)
- Manila version 2.1.19193517.0
-
If you need more information, give me a shout.
Great thanks and all the best
Chris
Short addendum:
I have just seen some other posts in your support site and already tried out the following:
- configured PIE as std. ie --> did'nt help
- installed netcfcfg.cab
-- reports no .net compact framework installed --> but it (3.5) is installed, and others work fine (gps-tracks.com, WiFiMonster, JiveTalk
So I have also entered a question in the www.xda-developers.com forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showt...).
Hope to get some answers or feedback!
Chris asked a question in Dale Lane on October 20, 2009 08:32:
Backlinks (Dock and [^%BACKLINKS%] does not list everythingThe Dock "Backlinks" and the command [^%BACKLINKS%] do not list all references to the page. Backlinks to a page with an section are omitted.
Example:
Page "A" contains:
-----------
+ Main
Some Text
[^%BACKLINKS%]
-----------
And page "B" contains:
......
[A#Main]
......
Then "Backlinks" does not list the page "B" as result of the command nor in the Dock "Backlinks".
Thanks very much for your appreciation and to consider to complete the Backlinks functionality.
Best Regards,

Hello Dale and Klawo
To keep Opera as the standard for HTTP links, it ist possible to just set IE to open HTM and HTML Files, HTTP still opens OPERA.
! Caution, you have to edit the registry !
I found a part of the solution here, [ http://www.pocketpc.ch/htc-touch-diam... ] (sorry only in german) but I did only the htm changes:
1. Open an registry editor for the mobile device (can be: http://www.pocketpcfreeware.mobi/down...
2. SAVE the original registry
3. Change: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.htm\(Default) _htmlfile_Opera to _htmlfile
4. Change: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.html\(Default) _htmlfile_Opera to _htmlfile
5. Change HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\Shell\Open\Command : "\Windows\OperaL.exe" "%1" to "\Windows\iexplore.exe" "%1"
6. Reboot device
Afterwards, my HTC follow the links in Blade like: [http://www.. ] with Opera, the blade works with IE rendering
Maybe someone packs the registry-hack in an cab ?
Sorry for my english
Thanks for the great Software!
