Chris replied on March 03, 2009 18:57 to the question "What's going on with my links?" in Yola:
HI Karin, thanks for your patience on this - this issue can be fixed quickly!
To resolve the issue, you'll need to follow the Google Webmaster Tools process at http://www.synthasite.com/tutorials/g... using "http://www.dreamthebeyond.com" as your site instead of "http://dreamthebeyond.com."
- The site you add should be "http://www.dreamthebeyond.com" without quotes
- The sitemap you add should be "http://www.dreamthebeyond.com/sitemap.xml" also without quotes.
As soon as Google crawls your site again, you should see that you don't have any errors for your new sitemap. It's your choice whether you remove the site without www. from your account, but it will continue to show errors.
We're working on updating that tutorial to be a little more clear for users who have their own domain.
On a very positive note - I see that Google does already have your home page indexed - great work! (I saw this by Googling for one of the phrases on your page - "Dreams are the key to our subconscious")
Good luck!
A comment on the question "webmaster tools says I have no links" in Yola:
Hi Will - I don't see any links in your site or on your sitemap resembling the one Google's showing an error for. It's possible there was just a hiccup in Google's system - my suggestion would be to wait until your site is crawled again and see if the error goes away. Google's Webmaster Tools site is a good resource, but does have issues from time to time. This is especially true for smaller sites WMT is not updated as frequently for them.
The good news is that I do see your site in Google's index - if you do a search for "a-class-driving.synthasite.com" it shows up. It's going to take a combination of time and links from relevant websites to show up for other terms.
Best of luck - hang in there! – Chris, on March 03, 2009 01:05-

Chris replied on February 23, 2009 19:15 to the question "How can I find my site's traffic rank...?" in Yola:
Hi Bernie, Google Analytics (GA) will give you a lot of information about your daily hits as well as traffic sources and a lot more detailed data.
GA can be tricky to set up as there are a lot of different ways to set up your views within the interface. The tracking code also has to be placed on all of your pages - if it's not on all pages, then the data may not be complete.
- For instance, I noticed that your home page (http://webmarketing.synthasite.com/) doesn't have any GA code on it, but several of your deeper pages do. In this case, Google will only show traffic on the pages with code, and won't show any of the traffic to your home page.
Can you explain what you mean by traffic in GA being masked with SynthaSite tracking? None of our code should affect the GA tracking. If you can explain a little more about what you're seeing, we may be able to help diagnose the problem.
With respect to Alexa, their service is set up only to show data for larger websites. They only show data for the top-trafficked sites, and they bundle subdomains into larger sites so they can display them. As far as I know, there isn't a way to get your site to show in Alexa at your current traffic level.-

Chris replied on February 13, 2009 21:26 to the idea "How I Got High Google Page Ranks with Synthasite" in Yola:
There is some awesome information in this thread - special thanks to Bengo and Ed for all of their suggestions here!
I wanted to add another tool for discovering links that I don't think I've seen mentioned here. In addition to the "site:" operator mentioned by Bengo way above, Google has some other special operations for their search (http://www.google.com/help/operators....) that can dig up some interesting data.
Playing with "link:" operator can show a different set of links than show up in Webmaster Tools. For instance, Googling for "link:synthasite.com" shows a small sampling of pages that link to our home page, both on and off our site.
Using this on your site can give an idea of what links Google sees as important.
Another interesting tool is to use Google Alerts (http://www.google.com/alerts) to track links to your site. Entering "yoursite.com" as a search query on this will allow Google to send you an email every time someone mentions or links to your site. You can also use any of the search operators here to only get alerts of links to your site, pages indexed on your site, etc.
Of course, as with most Google tools, these aren't comprehensive - they just give a subset of what Google actually finds and sees.
Happy sitebulding!
Chris replied on February 11, 2009 09:05 to the question "I need a 301 redirect" in Yola:
Hi Bronzie8 - The error you're seeing in Google Webmaster Tools is caused by an issue with the sitemap generated for your site. We're working on a fix, and will post a note here to GetSatisfaction when we have it launched.
Regarding the redirect, we do apply a 301 redirect to your subdomain - this is why any traffic to that subdomain is shown your site at the custom domain immediately.
Thanks for bearing with us during the fix!-

Chris replied on February 10, 2009 16:52 to the question "how can i confirm mym account on adsense?" in Yola:
Hi buldozer - SynthaSite isn't connected directly with your AdSense account, so you should follow lee's advice and try to log into your account at https://www.google.com/adsense/ . If you do not remember your password, there is a link that will help you reset it. Once you log in, you'll be able to see your statistics and any revenue generated.
I also suggest you spend some time in their help center at https://www.google.com/adsense/support/ . I believe they have a lot of topics for users like yourself who are just getting started. They also have a support forum there for AdSsense-specific questions.
Good luck!
