This is a clean install of Vista with no Dell bloatware on it. VIPRE was installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled. The only other software that might cause a problem is a 8e6 Mobile Client which blocks websites. It is installed on both XP and Vista and the XP still works fine with the 8e6 software on it. I have also monitored the laptops Internet usage while it is attempting to connect to get updates and it is not being blocked.

I also tried disabling my Windows Firewall and it still would not receive the updates.

Chris Durward asked a question in Sunbelt Software on February 13, 2009 18:08:
Risk definitions update has been canceled.Whenever I try to update VIPRE I get a message saying "Risk definitions update has been canceled." This is on clean install laptop dual booting XP and Vista. The update works fine in XP but fails everytiem on Vista. I have uninstalled VIPRE on Vista and reinstalled, it still does the same thing.
