Hi all,
We are aware that the fix mentioned above did not work for everyone, and as such have spent a considerable amount of time attempting to recreate, isolate and fix this issue once and for all. I am pleased to announce that we believe we have successfully found and resolved the underlying problems causing this (there were a few). An update has been submitted, which should be available shortly.
Obviously it is difficult to say for certain whether these fixes will solve the problem in all cases, but we do believe it will clear the issue up for the vast majority.
If you have any further questions at this point please do not hesitate to post back.

Chris Nicoll replied on October 29, 2009 00:59 to the problem "unable to sync with cloudcell" in Firemint:
Hi everyone,
The problems experienced with syncing can be attributed to Cloudcell downtime on several occasions over the last few days. These issues have now been resolved and we are confident that there will be no further problems moving forward. I should mention that Cloudcell undergoes scheduled maintenance between 2:00 - 2:30 ET every day, and hence will be down for this period.
If you are still having problems and you have tried unlinking/relinking your account, please reply back and we will further investigate the issue.

Chris Nicoll replied on October 29, 2009 00:44 to the problem "Mail is not sent after password reset request" in Firemint:
Hey guys,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. There was indeed a problem with password reset emails being sent out, which was causing them to stack up in a queue. This has now been resolved and all emails should have been sent out successfully.
Note, if you did request a new password multiple times please use the last email received, or reset again to receive a new email.
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you experience any further issues.
Chris Nicoll replied on October 27, 2009 23:15 to the problem "cloudcell crashed during VW contest registration" in Firemint:
Hi Yannick,
Sure, click on the "Winner's Circle" link from the main menu of the game, followed by "Win an all-new 2010 GTI". If the register now button appears on this page you have not registered (please fill the form out again and submit). If, on the other hand the register now button has disappeared, and has instead been replaced with 7 circles showing your entries for the week, you have registered successfully.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.
Chris Nicoll replied on July 27, 2009 00:21 to the idea "'Turn on game sounds' question at boot" in Firemint:
Hi Scott,
Thanks for the idea!
I must explain that we actually had this option in the game all the way up until the latest release, where we decided to remove it. The majority of people from what we could see were requesting that this option be removed because it was an unnecessary step at the beginning of the game. Hence, due to the addition of audio preferences being saved in the latest update, and the attempt to reduce waiting time at the beginning of the game we decided to remove it.
Never the less, this will be taken on board. Appreciate the feedback!
Chris Nicoll replied on July 26, 2009 23:59 to the problem "Real Racing Menu Problems" in Firemint:
Hi Larry,
This problem seems to occur only when you have the screen flipped from its original orientation. For some strange reason the touch area of some of the buttons moves up when flipped.
This problem will be fixed in our next update. For now, however, I would advise either not flipping the screen if at all possible, or touching just above any of the buttons that you are having issues with.

Hi guys,
It appears as though there is a problem with the Real Racing replay recorders, which is why leagues are not progressing correctly to the next season. We are currently investigating, and will hopefully have a fix very shortly.
I will post back when the issue has been resolved, or we have any further information.

Chris Nicoll replied on July 10, 2009 11:08 to the problem "Shaky horizon" in Firemint:
Hi Michael,
I am sorry to hear that you have encountered this problem in the latest update, and completely understand the affect that it is having on your experience with Real Racing. I can tell you that we have been looking into this as a priority.
The horizon shake problem that we ran into in the earlier release was related specifically to speaker volume and the impact it had on the accelerometer. This, along with a few changes to horizon tilt and general accelerometer smoothing fixed this as far as we could tell. So, I must point out that the problem you are seeing is something completely new to us. Since fixing the earlier issue we have yet to encounter any further shaking, despite testing on a range of devices with differing firmware versions. Never the less, we have been working hard on the problem that you are now experiencing, and while we have not managed to successfully reproduce it on any of our test devices, do believe that we may have isolated a reason for the occurrence and found a possible a solution. Based on the description of the problem provided by yourself and other members experiencing the same issue, we have narrowed it down to the amount of horizon damping (restraining of vibratory motion and noise). In particular, the amount of damping that is applied to the horizon and how it is calculated. Without getting into too much detail, we found what seems like a fairly serious bug relating to this calculation that could definitely cause the problem. I can report that this has now been fixed. As I mentioned earlier in this response, we have not been able to reproduce the problem so cannot check to see whether our fix was successful. The testing that has been done, however, has given us enough evidence to indicate that there is a good chance that it did fix it.
This fix will be available in the next update, which will be going out shortly. In the mean time, I would suggest playing with horizon tilt turned off. I do realise that this is not ideal, but it is probably the best option until the update is out.
I hope this helps!
Chris Nicoll replied on July 08, 2009 03:51 to the idea "Realistic Vibration not Pulsation..." in Firemint:
Hi Doddfather,
Unfortunately we have very limited control over device vibration. In fact, we are able to turn device vibration on, and that is really the extent of it. We cannot specify length of vibration, type of vibration (pulse etc), pace, and cannot even turn vibration off. As an example, when your car rolls onto an off road surface we are repeatedly turning vibration on until your car leaves that surface.
We feel the same way as you do about this, and would have loved to implement something more sophisticated. Unless Apple has any plans to upgrade device vibration, however, there is nothing more that we can do.

Chris Nicoll replied on June 29, 2009 02:40 to the problem "Uploaded league time didn't count all the laps." in Firemint:
Hi CO,
This is really quite strange, and is not something that we have seen before. The replay of the time in question actually only shows 3 laps being completed, and If you take a look at the lap counter when the replay camera defaults to interior view you can verify that this is indeed the case. Hence, as you suggested the player has only completed 3 laps, and therefore has the time to match. I am not sure how this can happen considering the race itself has been flagged as 4 laps...
Anyway, we are currently investigating, and hope to isolate the problem and prevent it from happening again.
