Hey Ed! Great to see you're playing around with the API. When making a call to the API, you don't have to wrap the key in brackets. We use those to show "put your info here" but maybe I'll see if there's a better way to notate that. This should work:

Chris Ricca replied on September 21, 2009 17:18 to the question "How do I disassociate Facebook connect from my drop?" in drop.io:
Hey Ryan,
When you turn on facebook connect, it adds a default guest password if you don't already have one on the drop. If you remove the guest password from the drop, you should be all set and users should be able to pass straight through to your drop. Sorry for the confusion - you aren't the first person to get tripped up by this. I'll be sure to clear this behavior up when I get a chance (or at least make it clearer in the UI that it's happening). Thanks!
p.s. - let me know if you're still having issues.

Ability to Customize 'Tweet.io' BroadcastsThe Tweet.io functionality is great, but I think some templating for the output would really help making drop.io something that people use everyday to share stuff on twitter. As an example, check out the customization available on BrightKite. I currently have my BrightKite account linked to Twitter with the following customized output:
Hey, $city! I'm at $place - $link
This allows me to add a little personal flair to the message, so it's not SO clear that I'm just having the bots push my data around. I think that's important to many people on Twitter, and would really open up people to using drop.io in this way.

Chris Ricca replied on July 15, 2008 19:48 to the idea "iCal URLs aren't very well protected..." in TripIt:
I would prefer a way I could keep my feeds on, but still have them protected :) My recommendation would be to add a hash to the feed URL. This would prevent other people (who I haven't given the link to) from accessing it.
i.e. "webcal://www.tripit.com/feed/ical/people/username/j028hs0k082/tripit.ics"
or something similar. Thanks for the reply.

iCal URLs aren't very well protected...I think URLs for the iCal feeds should be more protected. I can currently look at anyone's feed if I know their username by loading "webcal://www.tripit.com/feed/ical/people/username/tripit.ics". That seems a bit open. People aren't supposed to just be able to see my traveling schedule with just a username, right? Anyway, two cents.
