As I understand it, the way one would use mockups is to quickly "mockup" something to show the customers and when they agree, start building it. But if they don't agree, you can quickly make changes until they do agree.
If the customer never agrees, then they aren't serious about having the work done. Do you seriously want that type of customer who wastes your time? (unless, of course, you're charging them for it).-

Chris Velevitch replied on August 11, 2009 15:34 to the question "Counterinutitive alignment behaviour" in Balsamiq:
The problem is this is no way say what object is the reference point for the alignment.
Generally you want to add a new object and roughly place it where you want it and then align it relative to an existing object. The steps would be create the object, roughly place it, ctrl/cmd+click the reference object, align. The last selected object would always be the reference object.

Offline helpHave the help offline because when I'm working on a train or a plane, I don't have internet access. Specifically, the keyboard shortcuts.

New object positionA new object should be positioned near the last added object. I think about half the time, the new object positioned near the last added object and hopefully will speed the positioning of the object.

If your online help is up-to-date, only the '/' or '+' would be effected since SHIFT+A and CTRL+A do the exact same thing (SHIFT+A is an uncommon keyboard shortcut in my opinion).
This would work if didn't type '/' or '+' as the very first character and Quick Add would still work and so would the Lorem-ipsum generator.
Actually SHIFT+A doesn't appear to be working in 1.6.25.-

Chris Velevitch asked a question in Balsamiq on August 06, 2009 11:59:
Counterinutitive alignment behaviourWhy does left or right align always align to the bottom rather than the top object? I don't about you, but I tend to add objects underneath other or insert new objects between existing ones, so I want everything aligned to the top object because, generally, everything else is positioned relative to the top object. And the some for top and bottom align aligning to the right most object instead of the left most object.

I've used it in an obscure forms designing tool. The spacing has a default, but that can be changed. The use in question is as illustrated, just wanting to have a consistent minimum spacing between text fields, especially when they are to be labels for text input fields that will be placed next to them.

New alignment optionAdd a new alignment option to reposition objects so that, from the top (or bottom) object, there is a fixed minimum space between objects. Also, rename the alignment option "Space Out" to "Distribute Evenly" because that what it's really doing.
