We sincerely apologize for the delay with searching your documents. We are experiencing some issues with the search indexes after completing our hardware upgrade. We are making architectural changes while also providing the search service to all content already in our system. Only new documents are experiencing issues as this time. We are actively working on a final resolution and should have this issue under control very soon.
I see that you are one of our Premium account holders, and we have better support channels in place for our customers.
I've fast-tracked your request and the pending documents in our system for you. I appreciate your patience. I'm going to send you an email with more information. Best, -Chris

cera replied on October 27, 2009 15:51 to the question "How Can I Call Conversion On Upload?" in vuzit:
Hi wdmny,
We will have a better method to do this in the future:
Use the getStatus() function: http://wiki.github.com/vuzit/vuzitphp...
The values are as follows:
less than 4 is still processing
4 is complete
5 is removed
greater than 5 is an error
Let us know if you have any other questions. I posted this previously, but GSFN appears to have mangled the post when you use certain characters. -Chris

Hi wdmny,
In Javascript, you can use the Document::isProcessingComplete() method to see if the processing is finished. Then you might want to check Document::isProcessingSuccess() method to make sure it was successful before displaying the Viewer.
http://vuzit.com/developer/reference/....Document.isProcessingComplete
http://vuzit.com/developer/reference/....Document.isProcessingSuccess
We are working on a better method for retrieving the status using server-side code, and have slowly been implementing this into the client libraries. We have similar methods implemented in some of these libraries, but sometimes it takes us a bit of time to push out all the functionality into all of the client libraries. Are you using one of the client libraries, such as VuzitPHP?
Let me know and I'll tell you a better method if it's available, otherwise I'll tell you a harder [undocumented] way that will work server-side. Thanks, -Chris

Hi julien,
Thank you very much for the suggestion. Several people have requested this feature, and we plan to implement it in the future. Whenever somebody makes a request like this it gets one notch higher on the priority list :)
We have been adding functionality at a fairly rapid pace, so hopefully this will be addressed soon. I appreciate your suggestion and feedback. Take care, -Chris

cera replied on October 15, 2009 14:43 to the question "Search doesn't work" in vuzit:
Hi jpjenicot,
The search indexing occurs as a post-processing step after the document's visual content has been processed. The message you receive should say that the indexing is currently in progress.
Currently, this process is delayed for all content (including PDFs) except Microsoft Office documents which happens much more quickly.
We are actually more than doubling our server capacity this weekend to address the problem.
I appreciate your inquiry and patience. Take care, -Chris
cera replied on October 06, 2009 14:30 to the question "Can i control who see my document" in vuzit:
Hi Ibrahim,
I'm sorry for the delay in responding. We just received an email alert from GetSatisfaction about this question today, despite the fact it appears you left this over a week ago.
We have a solution that would work for you, but it would require a bit of work to manage until we add some additional features that we have planned.
Using the Vuzit Dashboard you can generate a link with a URL where you can control how you distribute that URL to your prospective customers. You could upload the document twice, and make a URL without download capability, and another URL with download capability. You distribute one during the trial period, and the other after the trial period is over.
Vuzit doesn't have a way (yet) to control the 30 day access period, so you would need to manage this yourself by deleting the document.
Let me know what you think, or if you have any other questions. Thank you, -Chris

cera replied on September 10, 2009 18:38 to the question "Using the Javascript API to make a document public at upload." in vuzit:
Hi Josh,
I appreciate your feedback and comments, and I'm sorry that it appears you got burned by our decisions which change how our system functions. We constantly struggle with ease-of-use and security. We initially were focused more on ease-of-use, and as we've matured security has become more important for the majority of our clients.
1) I can confirm that you cannot set a document to be download-able with the Javascript API (anymore). You can currently only do this with the Web Service APIs and associated Libraries.
2) I can also confirm that the full-screen functionality no longer works as you pointed out.
In both of these cases, we initially made the default action provide the most privileges and now we ensure that it's essentially the least privileges. However, we could add additional parameters that would solve your problem which, I admit, we neglected when we made these changes.
I've created a case for your inquiry about the Downloadable with a very high priority. The implementation of this should be simple, and we'll try to get this done ASAP.
The full-screen functionality redirected the end-user to a page on vuzit.com. I don't believe we will allow Vuzit documents to be publicly viewable on the vuzit.com website ever again due to security concerns. We have some ideas for doing this differently, but I don't expect a solution in the near future.
There is a workaround you could use to get the full-screen link back, but it would involve hosting the full-screen Vuzit viewer on your own website. I imagine this would be very similar code to the page you have already created, only it uses a full-screen Vuzit viewer (URL to sample code is below). Then change the value of the viewer.setFullScreenUrl() function to point to your newly created page that displays the same page within a full-screen window.

If you have any other questions on the implementation, rationale, or just general comments, then please let us know. Thanks again, Josh -Chris

cera replied on August 17, 2009 21:39 to the question "javascript error address registred with key" in vuzit:
Hi Julen,
You can add your list of registered sites here:
https://ssl.vuzit.com/user/site
Vuzit requires each domain and sub-domain to be authenticated. So you will need to register both http://mysite.com and http://www.mysite.com if you park multiple domains at the same location without using a HTTP 301 redirect to seamlessly redirect one domain over to another. For instance, you will notice that http://www.vuzit.com redirects the browser to http://vuzit.com automatically.
We plan to make this easier in the future by supporting some kind of mask for all subdomains.
Let me know if you have any other questions. -Chris
cera set one of cera's replies as an official response to "No access to my document" in vuzit
cera replied on August 17, 2009 19:27 to the question "No access to my document" in vuzit:
Hi infojov,
It appears that this document processed successfully, and it's marked as being secure which means it requires authentication parameters (signature and timestamp) in order to view the document. If this isn't what you intended, then please let me know.
You can use our VuzitPHP, VuzitRuby, or Vuzit.NET libraries to generate these parameters for you. See the developer page for links to these libraries:
http://vuzit.com/developer/#uploading
Alternatively, you could generate the signature/timestamp on your own (more difficult). The documentation for doing this is located here:
http://vuzit.com/developer/documents_...
There is a Javascript viewing example on the following page where you can see how to pass in the signature and timestamp.
http://wiki.github.com/vuzit/vuzitphp...
This is also explained in our Javascript API documentation:
http://vuzit.com/developer/reference#....Viewer.constructor
If this still doesn't answer or solve your problem, then please let me know how you are uploading the document to Vuzit and we'll come up with next steps. Thanks -Chris
