Yeah, I guess I haven't been able to see this because I'm always using "cancel remaining time" which I guess removes the user from the plan completely (and requires them to join a new plan)

lifetime free trial > timed membership

So I have a trial plan that does not expire and a membership that is 12 months. If a user signs up as a member after being a trial, their subscription has "lifetime" set to True. This seems confusing to me, as they are currently on a 12 month subscription, right?

Is this in fact the same? if a user goes to their page after this action is taken they get "Subscription was cancelled 2 minutes ago (Nov 10, 2009)." Which seems different to me from an account expiring due to time being up. Also in this case the user has no ability to renew their subscription.

So if a user is on a plan that we later decided to change or remove, they are grandfathered into that plan?

if so, when the users time expires on one of these plans, do they lose the ability to update their payment info and continue at the grandfathered plans level?

Address required to process payment, but no place for user to enter address while paying

I'm getting the following message when trying to make a test payment using our newly setup paypal gateway; the issue is I see no place to enter an address, only first name, last name, email, card type, card number, code, and expire date. Help?

Unable to authorize payment

There's an error with this transaction. Please enter a complete billing address.

No money has been taken from your account. We apologize for the inconvenience. Would you like to try again?

Thanks, this is how I thought it worked, but I feel like I was able to sign up for a membership as a new user then switch to a free trial in the past. Does feature level have anything to do with this? or do you only get 1 free trial pre site?

I think we may get around this by giving users who successfully buy gift plans "credits" that we will deduct from their account when creating gift subscriptions using the API. (based on an existing user or email)

it seems to be working now, here is the flow I was using without luck earlier today:

1. Sign a user up for a new membership (12 months) and do not set auto-renew
2. check subscription synced with api, recurring = False
3. login as member and click "update or edit subscription"
4. on spreedly choose "Renew this subscription automatically?"
5. Enter info, submit
6. curl -v --data-ascii subscriber_ids=13 http://127.0.0.1:8000/subscriptions/s...
7. check our database, recurring was still False

Mainly I'd just like to let the user know they are on a gift plan when they go to the subscription page. This flag may also change some of our language:

"We hope you enjoyed your gift"

etc.

well, the big issue is in django its not possible to create a user object without a unique username. So we can't know user B's user ID until user B has a username (which user A won't know)

Its a bit late in the day, but I'm confused how and when the "trial_elegible" flag is True for a user.

My understanding is that the 'recurring' boolean that is returned with a user subscription is if the users plan is set to auto-renew or not. However, when I set a plan to auto renew, 'recurring' stays false.
