Chris D reported a problem in Feedly on November 02, 2009 09:57:
Something wrong with Yahoo Upcoming's feed in FeedlyDear feedly chaps,
there's something odd about Feedly's interaction with Yahoo Upcoming's RSS feed - the link it provides to the original source looks something like this: http://real.upcomging.yahoo.com/event...
when it should be something like this:
http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/4794451/
To reproduce, try subscribing to upcoming, opening an article in feedly and clicking on the title to launch the originating page in a new tab.
Is this something you're doing or is it an issue with the way upcoming construct their RSS feed? If so can ask them to fix it?
Cheers, Chris D.

Ah, maybe that's what was confusing - it looked as if I should be able to sign in with my openid and indeed it allowed me to do so but only as a guest.
Cataloging open ids would be a good idea - esp now that authentication providers are repurposing their signons as openids (e.g. flickr).
Thanks for the prompt reply btw!

Chimp wants me to connect with myself!I have a message saying "1 person would like your attention." however this message is a connection request from my own openid (via myopenid.com). I have no idea how this has happened, or why, or what to do about it - obviously I don't want to add myself to my own contacts list...
Chris D asked a question in Ping.fm on March 13, 2009 00:14:
How am I supposed to use spinvox 'normally'?I use spinvox to take memos all the time, and would love to also use it to tweet, etc. However, once it's associated with my ping.fm account it looks like all it will do is go through this service and I can no longer use it for taking memos (which it emails to me btw).
Am I missing something?

Ah, yeah - that's fine for someone who's added the company, but not for the other person who happens coincidentally to come looking for it a few minutes later.
(Although it turns out what's happened in this case is that unbeknownst to me my *wife* added the company a few minutes before I went to complain about the same issue - so it seems there are use cases that don't rely on as much coincidence as one might think :-)
Chris D reported a problem in Asda on January 28, 2009 00:05:
ADSA Online Shopping FailureASDA’s online grocery shopping system randomly cancelled our order today without any notification. It happened after we'd added a couple of items to an already entered (and paid for) order and had received confirmation of the extra items. When we went back a few hours later (to add some more things) the order had simply been cancelled - no notice, no explanation. No help (whatsoever!) from customer service, no compensation and no re-instatement of the delivery slot, so even had we remade the order we wouldn't have received them in time for the family meal we needed them for.
Absolutely rubbish, Asda - appalling service and a total waste of time.
Won't be using you again.

Thanks Eric,
I was suspicious because it looked like a large company had somehow excluded itself from GS - I couldn't see it, or add it and there was no indication to me that a) there was a delay between adding a company and it appearing to other users or b) this particular company fell into this category.
I spent quite a while trying to find it from the search on different pages, and tried adding it several times as well - no other indication than 'company not found' and 'company already exists'.
Chris D asked a question in Get Satisfaction on January 27, 2009 22:19:
Why can't I find ASDA?How come I can't find ASDA in GS.com, but when I try to add it it says it's already in the database?

why does firefox keep forgetting my passwords? It remembers fine for a week or two or three, then one day suddenly: whoops! alzheimers!
Is it a firefox issue or is foxmarks synching removing records from FF's password db?
