Update: 6 months later, the bag actually still looks like new, and I'm finding all the little pockets to be in just the right spots.
One thing has been driving me crazy, however. The rotation point on the strap squeaks constantly whenever there is any weight at all in the bag. The plastic-on-plastic rubbing is really annoying to me and those walking with me. I'm going to have to wrap the hinge in black tape, because I don't want to lubricate it and possibly ruin my clothes.
A comment on the problem "My Commute bag squeaks!" in Timbuk2:
I have the same problem. It's definately from the rotation point, not where the d-clip meets the metal ring on the bag. – ChrisNF, on April 13, 2009 18:20

I have the same problem with my Timbuk2 'blogger' bag. The bag is great, but the squeak is driving me crazy. I've isolated it to the rotating hinges on either end of the strap. When the bag has any weight at all in it, the pressure causes these two pieces of plastic to rub together loudly as I walk.
I refuse to put WD40 on it, as was suggested by an employee above. I'd rather not ruin my clothes. I'd prefer a new strap, without squeaky hinges. Even if there were not rotation hinges at all, that would be preferable.

Great quality and designMy sister just gave me the "Blogger" messenger bag, and I love it! It's a nice size, sturdy, and it's one of the few "vertical" orientation bags available these days.
ChrisNF reported a problem in United Airlines on November 21, 2008 22:31:
Can't properly rebook passengers after kicking them off their original flightUnited recently rerouted me because my original flight was overbooked. Travelling from Tulsa to Calgary through Denver, I ended up flying to Las Vegas from Denver, then to Calgary. However, they couldn't figure out their computers in Denver and didn't actually book the second leg of my new flight. When I arrived at the gate in Vegas, I was by Air Canada that I had no booking and I was stranded as their flight was full. After much running around Las Vegas airport (between two terminals!), United eventually fixed it but didn't even apologize. In fact the Las Vegas agent was really rude the entire time and acted like it was all my fault.
I didn't mind the delay due to overbooking; this is the nature of flying and it happens. I didn't even mind that they mixed up my re-booking -- this happens sometimes too. But what really got to me was the agent's bad attitude. A simple "I'm sorry we screwed up your whole day and stranded you for hours." would have made me much happier about this. On leaving the United desk at Las Vegas, I said "you know, I just want to point out that although you helped me today, you didn't even apologize for all this inconvenience". All Ms. Kubo said was "Next customer!" So rude.
