Just updating. I've run with RescueTime on and off since my last response. I am convinced it is involved in this problem - anytime it's off I have no issue, anytime it's on I have problems. It of course may be an interaction with one or more of the many other things I run on my system.
But, one thing that is a guess on my part is that it has something to do with RT's getting of the URL/web page you're looking at so it can put that in the time alotments. I say that because what I noticed is that this can happen even if I'm already using Safari, but just switch tabs - so no application task switch involved, simply switch to another tab. This is a lot more rare, but I've seen it a few times now, and it's again coincident with RT being active.
Anyway, I've had to turn off RT now, as it's not a workable situation for me, but if possible, when a new version comes out, or you have a [debug] version you want me to try or any such, and you can add a note to this topic, that'd be great. Thanks.

Brian, I sent this to you in email, but thought I'd post it here for reference as well:
Thanks for looking into this. I'm seeing this on a Mac Pro, some specs/info:
MacOS X 10.5.7
Mac Pro 2.66GHz Quad Core Xeon (Nehalem chip)
8GB RAM
Disk setup as a striped RAID set using software RAID
I use two Safari's. My main browser use, for just everyday browsing is regular Safari, version 4.0.2 (5530.19). For my daily development work, I use Safari nightlies, and I think I notice it more with the nightly builds (but it may be that I'm simply switching to that browser more often). Current nightly is 4.0.2 (5530.19 r46282).
I am most often switching from TextMate to Safari, but of course other apps too. I'll try to note down any apps I'm switching from, and also keep track of which Safari it was in each case.

Chris Bailey asked a question in RescueTime on July 23, 2009 20:47:
Switching to Safari is often very slow with RescueTimeSince installing RescueTime, it seems that almost anytime I switch from one app to Safari, that I get the rainbow spinning pizza cursor, and it takes a bit for Safari to activate. It is a long enough delay that it's very frustrating. I'm wondering if others have seen this, or if this is a known issue, and/or if there is a solution, etc.? I make heavy use of Safari, so cannot continue to use RescueTime if it can't be resolved. So, hoping someone else has seen this issue and has a suggestion.

Add Story Comments by Replying to Email NotificationsI would like to be able to add a comment to a story by replying to an email notification that Tracker has sent. I believe Lighthouse did this by setting the sender of the email to something that links it to the particular story, etc. Also, I think it's completely reasonable to only accept incoming emails for this from the emails/users of the project (duh, but stating it anyway).
Chris Bailey replied on December 19, 2008 00:46 to the idea "Sending story comments via email" in Pivotal Labs:
Is this feature currently in Tracker? The emails I get say no-reply, and I don't see how I'd email a comment in for a story. This would be very desirable for us. I also have someone at another company who this is somewhat make-or-break for (I've been trying to convince him to try Tracker - they currently use Lighthouse which does this).
Edit: realizing, this idea was probably referring to simply sending email notifications when comments are made. I'll start a new idea/topic for being able to reply to emails to post comments.-

The Time tab has disappeared in the latest updateThe Time tab has disappeared in the latest update - I now only see Dashboard and project. I was using the Time tracking, and don't see how to get to that now.

Dim events that have passedI'd like to have events in Today that have past in time display in a more dimmed state, so that your view of the day's events shows upcoming events more prominently. I don't want them to disappear, just be a bit more dimmed/translucent or whatever.

Remove/change time display for all day eventsFor all day events, I'd like to see the time removed (showing 12am -12am is of no value), or at least have it say "All day" or something. Also, presumably, these items could take up less space in the listing.
