Christina replied on March 27, 2009 18:41 to the question "Can't accept more than one invitation at a time" in LinkedIn:
Go to the title "Received" you'll see a little dropdown arrow. It will give you a dropdown and you can select the filter "invitations." Now you can select all, and click accept all. Because you have not read these messages and a use may have a message for you, they will remain marked as unread until you read them. But you can still mass connect. We will continue to make changes to make the inbox more like other email tools, yet still have those useful power tools for power users like you. All is documented here

To be honest, we haven't done anything except explore the problem. The application is timing out. The fact you are europe may contribute to the problem. Try late at night (for the USA) and that also may help.
We are still working on avoiding this issue by making a change in the ap itself. It will take us some time, though, that's why I am recommending these work arounds.

Christina replied on December 01, 2008 17:37 to the question "What's the best way to handle "self-employed" on LinkedIn?" in LinkedIn:
Seriously-- if you are accepting money, you are doing so under a name. It might be Smith consulting, LLC, or Shawn Smith Consulting, Sole propiratership or even just Shawn SMith (though I admit Shawn Smith consulting looks better on Linkedin as well as on checks. Then again, what check looks bad?)
In the state of California you don't have to formally register your business if your name is in it... check out my profile: Wodtke Consulting is a sole prop and perfectly cricket for both LinkedIn and the State of California, with no fancy paperwork.

We are working on correct this bug. For now, please contact customer service. they can go into the customer service tool and show this recommendation on your profile for you.
Contacting customer service should always be your first step anyhow-- they have the tools to help!
I will swing by when we've got a fix in place.
Christina replied on November 21, 2008 19:21 to the problem "Can't accept or recieve recommendations" in LinkedIn:
We have a couple theories. One is that the recommendation has been withdrawn, but that message isn't showing. that would result in a recommendation with no button to accept it.
Check under profile- recommendations, there it should list any valid recommendations waiting to be accepted. With the others, can you check with the person who wrote the recommendation to see if they have withdrawn it for some reason (for example, to write a new one).
Also, if you have a problem, can you include a screenshot of the page with the problem? this helps us immeasurably.

Christina replied on September 10, 2008 21:06 to the question "Managing positions and relationships as a freelancer." in LinkedIn:
Normally, you would add your company as a position, so if you worked for Sapient, you list this, and if you work for yourself you'd list something like Danofames LLC or Dan Fames, Freelance. In the description, you can name some of the notable companies you worked for. Then, when you connect, you list the relationship as "service provider."
Hope this helps!-

Christina replied on August 19, 2008 15:34 to the problem "What is the point, in LinkedIn's view, of groups?" in LinkedIn:
Okay, I sit next to the PM for groups, and he is working insanely hard right now, so I'd drop a quick note until he can swing by.
In the past, groups had one important role, which was to allow users to add a group affiliation to your profile, to improve our professional reputation. This also enhanced the group's reputation by having a lot of smart people publicly announcing an association.
But, as you point out, that is leaving a lot of value in groups behind-- namely communication and knowledge sharing. Don't think we having noticed, and heard your calls. In a couple weeks, you will begin to see new, richer functionality.
Unfortunately, to get that new functionality in, we had to do some infrastructure changes, and we did have to scale back functionality in order to get it out there. We did get many design improvements out, and personally I really like the direction we're going. Your mileage may vary.
Can I ask group owners to keep the faith until labor day? When the first nifty feature arrives? LinkedIn believes strongly in the power of groups, is investing in it, and I'd hate to see all the hard work that goes into making an maintaining groups thrown away. I'm a group moderator too, and believe me, I sympathize. But I can see things in the works, and want to share with you that it's worth keeping the flame of hope afire!

Okay, I'm going to call this hopefully resolved.
If you have this problem, please go to your accounts and settings, and RECONFIRM all emails associated with the account. Then retry accepting the recommendations.
If this does NOT work, then please email me.
We have a fix that will go out that will prevent any new users from having this problem. However, anyone currently suffering from this will need to RECONFIRM their address.
