Hi, Max!
"Configure" does allow you to customize the interface as you've described, and allows you to choose different icons for the tab bar. Adding new catagories is a good idea; we'll put it on the list.
We have confirmed the issue you noted about persistence of the icons in their new positions, and will address that in our next release.
Thanks for using Scanaroo!

It's a li'l iphone trick (i learned this when trying to delete a podcast; it's the same mechanism...also works for email items, btw).
1) Go to the "list" view (that is, the view that has all the cards in it, like the "Loyalty" tab)
2) Swipe your finger right-to-left across the line (i.e. card) in the list you want to delete
3) Voila! A delete button magically appears on that line
Fun w/ iPhone gestures! More here:

Here are the tricks that we've found work well:
1) Take the photos in a well-lighted area.
2) Position the camera about 6" or so from the card, at a distance that the card takes up the width of the viewfinder when the phone is held in "normal" (portrait) orientation
3) The current model phone (iPhone 3G S) has a significantly better camera than the older versions, both in hardware and software. When using the 3G S, make sure to tap the screen and have the camera autofocus on the part of the card you want most in focus
4) For particularly detailed cards, another option is to scan them on a flatbed scanner, then mail them to your email account and do a "Save Image" on the phone. Then add the cards to Scanaroo from the Photo Library, as opposed to taking a photo with the camera
Thanks, Dan, for the interest and please keep sending us feedback!

Ensuring good picture quality on Scanaroo?Dan asks:
"I have way too many cards in my wallet and I don't even keep half the loyalty program cards that I've been hooked into. So I've had this Jones for the product you showed at VRM. I was really happy to buy Scanaroo from the App Store. But I'm having trouble taking pictures of my cards that I can later read. Do you have any pointers for getting better resolution and contrast on the iPhone camera?"
christophercarfi replied on July 29, 2009 16:59 to the question "Icon Images for iPhone Scanaroo" in Cerado:
Hi, Darlene! To set the icon image in Scanaroo, go into the "Edit" screen, and click on the icon itself. That will bring up the picture chooser, just like for the card itself. You can then take a picture to set as the icon.
Love the idea of the icon library. We'll look into it...thanks for using Scanaroo!
