That's pretty much what I figured out as well. During peak twitter times, all services have delays via SMS. what's more, I've found that updates via txt hit follower's devices often well before they appear in my timeline on twitter/home.

Does Verizon Suck for twitter or what?
How long should it take for my SMS posts to appear? I sent an SMS at 7:14PM, and the web says that I posted it at 1:53AM the next day. It seems that sometimes my TXT messages take forever for updates.

Are there times that the network is just slow or what? Right now they are updating near-real-time. Go figure.
