Chrysanthe replied on September 11, 2009 16:05 to the question "Map Not Showing Pins" in outside.in:
Welcome to outside.in! That's great that you're trying out our storymap. Usually we auto-detect RSS feeds, but we didn't for your site. I've added it behind the scenes and now we're processing your stories, which you can view and geotag at outside.in/geotoolkit.
Please note that only posts that are attached to a place will show up on a map (ie only posts about a specific location, as we only map places, not neighborhoods--but your local posts will still show up on our pages and be syndicated to our media partner sites).

Chrysanthe replied on August 26, 2009 14:47 to the question "Wrong City on my Story Map" in outside.in:
Your map centers around where you have stories. You can make sure that you have pins for all your local stories by checking outside.in/geotoolkit/feed and using our feed editor and geotagger. Will you email me so I can find your account to investigate in more detail? Thanks! chrysanthe at outside[dot]in

Glad you're excited about outside.in! You can submit your blog here: outside.in/geotoolkit. There you'll find fun+interesting stats about places in your region, a map to display your posts, and a feed editor to geotag your posts.
We temporarily suspended the bi-weekly neighbor updated while we build something better than ever!
Chrysanthe replied on August 06, 2009 17:51 to the question "More information up front, please!" in outside.in:
Only posts that have location information that we autodetect will show up on our pages (ie posts that have city, neighborhood, or specific places named).
Also, you have control over which individual posts show up on which pages by using http://outside.in/geotoolkit/feed (our feed editor). From this page, you can attach and delete neighborhoods and places to make sure you can curate which posts we aggregate.
A comment on the problem "Neighborhood trouble" in AnnArbor.com:
If you're looking for content in your area, try searching on http://outside.in/Ann_Arbor_MI. We agree that curation is an important part of local news delivery, which is why we offer a new product that will allow publishers to filter which posts show up where. annarbor.com would be a great integration of this! – Chrysanthe, on August 04, 2009 17:31
Chrysanthe replied on July 31, 2009 19:19 to the question "Bringing back the bi-weekly emails?" in outside.in:
We've been restructuring our pages (you may have noticed the snazzy home page), so we don't have "top" stories per se right now, since we're currently working on streamlining our backend to produce a better platform for customization and news delivery. Stay tuned for news in the coming year: blog.outside.in. And of course, thanks for asking :)
Chrysanthe replied on July 31, 2009 17:55 to the question "Bringing back the bi-weekly emails?" in outside.in:
The emails are still temporarily on hold, but for now you could subscribe to your nabe or zip code in your feed reader:
http://outside.in/Mission_San_Francis... or http://outside.in/Mission_San_Francis...
I have the URL for my home zip and work zip in my feed reader and I find out about great stuff via small bloggers I don't normally read. Fun!

Yes! If you'd like your content to show up here, submit it at http://outside.in/geotoolkit. Once you submit your site, you can geotag your posts to help them show up on appropriate pages on our site and our partner sites (tag here: outside.in/geotoolkit/feed) AND you can grab a map that shows your stories displayed visually. outside.in/everywhere/storymaps – Chrysanthe, on July 28, 2009 16:42
Chrysanthe replied on July 27, 2009 19:08 to the problem "postings mis-categorized" in outside.in:
our direct bug reporting channels are either an email or a help form (both of which go directly to me), and it's just as simple as creating a get satisfaction issue.
Do you have a network of bloggers? If so, do encourage them to submit their own sites so they have access to the geotagging tools to control which pages they show up on. Also, the stronger the network of storymap users, the better for Ann Arbor! Feel free to email me a list of any other blogs we should follow whose content you don't see in our system, but it would be great to have them submit their own site. We'd love to see a stronger place blogging presence from AA!

If you ever see any bugs or errors you can email us at contact{at}outside[dot]in or fill out this form here: http://outside.in/help
We're always available for help and always respond to emails, so you can be in touch with us directly!
P.S. I fixed the story accidentally attached to Mitchell, Ann Arbor. If you're a blogger make sure you're geotagging your posts in GTK: outside.in/geotoolkit/feed

It's great that there's an Ann Arbor blogging community! It looks like only 9 out of 63 Ann Arbor blogs in our system have claimed their site account with outside.in. Sign up, grab a storymap, and have control over which posts show up on our pages (and which pages!): outside.in/geotoolkit. Send any and all questions my way: chrysanthe [at] outside dot in. Try out the map, geotag your posts, and send feedback! Let me know if you check it out.

I deleted the place in San Mateo.
The map automatically updates and we do have new posts from you through today (you can see what we pull in here: outside.in/geotoolkit/feed).
We're not showing any new pins because none of your posts have places attached yet (only posts with *places* show up on the map). You can attach places simply here: outside.in/geotoolkit/feed
