I'm sorry to hear about this problem! We tested against Safari 4 beta, and did not run into this problem. What version and build of Safari 4 are you using? Also, is anyone running into this problem in Safari 3, or is this just Safari 4?
Could someone please do us a favor, and try the following:
- Go to the "Discovery" tab
- Enable "Enable Smarter Search", but disable "Enable Site Info"
- Quit Safari
- Start Safari
Does Safari start up ok?

Hi Jennene, I'm sorry to hear about this problem! What version of Safari are you using?
While we tested against Safari 4 and things worked fine or us, we are getting some reports that it's not working so well for some Safari 4 users. For now, I'd suggest uninstalling Xmarks for Safari, and force-quitting Safari if you need to.

chuck replied on June 02, 2009 16:46 to the question "foxmarks for safari uninstallable?" in Xmarks:
Hello! I'm sorry that you're having trouble uninstalling Xmarks for Safari. Note that if you just want to temporarily stop it, you can do so from the Xmarks prefs pane.
If you just want to make absolutely certain that Xmarks (or Foxmarks) can't run, just delete the Xmarks for Safari (and Foxmarks for Safari, if present) application from your "Applications" folder, then restart.
The official way to scrub Xmarks from your system is to use the uninstaller that comes with Xmarks; see http://download.xmarks.com/download/s.... This removes all the other bits.
chuck replied on May 27, 2009 03:01 to the question "How can I add Xmarks to Safari in Vista please?" in Xmarks:
I'm sorry to say that the Safari version of Xmarks only works on MacOS 10.5. The reason is that the backend code needed to do bookmark sync for Safari on Vista is completely different, and we've only been able to do the MacOS version so far. Several other users have had this request, and we do hear you.

Hello,
Try logging into http://my.xmarks.com. Click on your folder in the list, then open the share dialog. Is your folder showing up as shared? Can you confirm that the link that we provide in my.xmarks.com is the same as these links which aren't working?

chuck replied on May 13, 2009 16:38 to the question "safari and firefox bookmarks in sync thru xmarks" in Xmarks:
Hello! There is a version of Xmarks for Safari on MacOS 10.5 which does exactly what you describe - keep your bookmarks and folders in sync not just between your machines, but also between your different web browsers. Download it here: http://download.xmarks.com/download/s...

chuck replied on May 11, 2009 17:37 to the question "really annoying syncing problem" in Xmarks:
Hello! This has been a known issue and cause of annoyance. The problem is that we receive system notification from other MacOS apps that a sync has happened, even when (often) nothing has changed.
Out most recent version of Xmarks for Safari 1.1.0 is much better about ignoring spurious changes. It also provided a setting in the advanced pane to turn off sync-detection altogether. Download it from: http://download.xmarks.com/download/s...
