Greetings and Blessings......
As a "Benedictine Oblate" I totally agree with what was stated above:
"What is different about the priorities of this ministry is that it is not focused on getting the core accurate first.... the Psalmody. In each instance the Psalmody -- that's the Psalms etc..-- was a foundation upon which they then built."
May Our Lord, Jesus Christ, ever so guide you to continue to purify this wonderful ministry online....
God Bless! ChuckW_Obl.SB-

Why "Book III" for Night Prayer? Why is "Book III" used for Night Prayer instead of the correct "Book II?"
Book III begins the 1st of June.....

"Liturgy of the Hours" - Instructions (Download)Greetings and Blessings!!
For those who wish some "hands on" instruction of how to pray the "Liturgy of the Hours" (Divine Office)..here is a great Benedictine website that you can download a nice pamphlet on the hows and history of the "Liturgy of the Hours:" www.osb.org/sva/obl/pdf/LoHFAQ.pdf
(You need Adobe Reader to view...it is a free download from Adobe)
This nice introduction and details of how to pray the Divine Office should help you
with questions and give you those helps you need!
And, much Praise and Blessings for those who present this wonderful prayer each day from "Divine Office!"

Wednesday (22 APR 09) OOR: Responsory missingWednesday's "Office of Readings:" The Responsory (John 10:14; Ezekiel 34:11,13) was missing in the vocal presentation, between the First Reading (Book of Revelation, 2:12-29) and Second Reading (From a sermon by Saint Leo the Great, pope).
Also all the Psalm Antiphon's for after Easter "Alleluia" were missing...as it is in all the NIght Prayer for the Easter Season.
Thank you and Bless You for your wonderful Ministry!!

Greetings and Blessings, Maureen
Being that I am an Oblate of St. Benedict, the Benedictines have many resources on the internet that references how to pray the "Liturgy of the Hours."
Here is a website that you can download a nice instructional pamphlet:
www.osb.org/sva/obl/pdf/LoHFAQ.pdf
I sincerely hope this helps you!

Easter Season Night Prayer "Antiphon" Missing & "Book II"Ever since Easter Sunday, the Night Prayers have not reflected the "Antiphon" for Easter "Alleulia, Alleulia,Alleulia" But had reverted to the Lenten Season readings instead. And, "Book III" is shown as it still be "Book II" as we return to "Book III" the 1st of June. Please correct the Easter Night Prayer "Antiphon" for Easter "Alleulia, Alleulia,Alleulia." Thank you and God Bless Your Wonderful Ministry!!..Chuck, Oblate of St. Benedict
