rd,
Are you trying to install flash in Windows or Ubuntu? If it is Windows just go to the flashplayer site in Songbird and try installing it from there. If it is Ubuntu, you are trying to install the Windows version of Flash and that won't work. Go to Flashplayer Website and download the correct file, (they now have a deb file), and install that. I have the new Flash 10 64bit alpha installed in Ubuntu and it works great in Songbird. Make sure you have updated Songbird to version 1.0
I have it in both my Windows and my Ubuntu computers and flash is working great in both.-
cjm5229 started following the idea "Use Launchpad to provide packages for Ubuntu" in Songbird.

I have Intrepid Ibex Alpha 4 on my computer, and I just installed the latest Alpha of Pulse Audio, which is just asking for something to be broken, I wasn't disappointed, it is broken. Songbird is the only audio app I can get working on it. Everything else either crashes or just sits there doing nothing. Songbird hawever fires up and plays Great!

I also have KDE installed with Ubuntu 8.04 64bit and right now I am listening to Shoutcast Radio on Songbird in KDE4. Try going into your file browser, and deleting the .songbird file. might have something old in there that is causing a problem. Now I really have to get back to Gnome, 5min. of KDE is enough for me :)

Here's a screenshot of Songbird showing the Adobe Flashplayer webpage. I installed Songbird from GetDeb's deb file for 64bit Ubuntu 8.04, it is installed in /usr/share/Songbird. You must use a root file manager. (gksudo nautilus) copy npwrapper.libflashplayer.so from /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins, to /usr/share/Songbird/plugins.

I am using 64 bit, If you have Flash installed in 64bit Ubuntu, just copy it over. This Ubuntu forums thread might help, it is for fixing pulse audio issues but it will also install Flashplayer 10. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.ph...

The GetDeb file works great but, It really isn't that hard to install Songbird in Ubuntu. Just create a file in your /home directory called Songbird, unzip the Tarball into that file, go to System>Preferences>Main Menu click the Sound and Video button on the left side, then on the right side click New Item, In Name, type Songbird, for command, navigate to the file you created called Songbird, click on the file "songbird" in that file. Then click on the little launcher icon upper left, browse to /home/username/Songbird/chrome/icons/default. Click on Open. click on the little blue egg, click open and you have created the launcher. Close the menu editor, go to Applications>Sound and Video> Songbird and it will come up to be configured. Congratulations you have just installed Songbird!

I copied everything in nautilus but I did use nautilus in root to change the permissions for npwrapperlibflashplayer.so, however, I have tried it without changing the permissions and it still works. I would just open up a file browser, and copy them over and see what happens, if it doesn't work then go into a root nautilus and change the permissions.
