Clamm replied on March 26, 2009 22:56 to the problem "Screwed-up Song Info" in Songbird:
If this really would have been caused by songbird it would be horrible... Until now i am not sure if it was songbird but lets get more information now...
What filetype are you using for your music???
Where are the files located??
Could you copy a bunch of files which seem to be affected, try to edit metadata again and see what happens... If it happened once to a file
it should happen twice...
Please report... If you are right this would be urgent!!!
THX!!
Clamm replied on March 26, 2009 22:48 to the question "Album art on the ipod synchronisation problem" in Songbird:
We are sorry about that... This should do the trick and fix your artwork problems:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) connect your iPod to iTunes
2) switch off "Display album artwork on your iPod" (in the Music tab)
3) switch back on the artwork option
This should do the trick and fix your artwork problems
BUG:
http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/show...
Proper album art support will come in the future.. But as discussed here
http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/show...
the team is limited and there are still other tasks which have to be done first.
But iPod Album art support is the first item of the unscheduled feature list...
http://wiki.songbirdnest.com/Roadmap/...
So STAY TUNED... IT WILL COME!
Thanks!
Clamm replied on March 26, 2009 22:36 to the question "After playing one specific song it will skip over 16-17 songs until it starts playing again." in Songbird:
Normally skipping in Songbird means that it cant find the file... Can you please assure that the paths to that skipped files are correct...
Easy to confirm: Delete the tracks that get always get skipped from your library, add them again to the library and see if they get skipped... If they dont get skipped anymore that was the reason.
Or even much easier... Install the excorcist add-on, Restart Songbird, CLICK: View->Media Views->Ghost Tracks... If the skipped tracks are listed Songbird isnt able to find them on your hard-disk (paths are wrong)

Clamm replied on March 20, 2009 09:10 to the problem "Songbird out of Tune" in Songbird:
Looking at your previus post i think you are talking about the Excorcist add-on..
http://getsatisfaction.com/songbird/t...
Please understand that add-on's are running under a lower priority here and are mostly not maintained by Songbird. And to answer every question is quite a hard work. Sorry about that.
I tried to reproduce the bug you mentioned but without success. Used the latest nightly, a fresh profile and the add-on.
Latest nightly:
http://developer.songbirdnest.com/bui...
Steps to track down the problem:
1. Can you delete files manually (Right click on file -> Remove)?
2. Could you try it with a fresh profile and install the excorcist add-on and see if that works...
How to start the Profile Manager:

Clamm replied on March 19, 2009 22:51 to the question "edit & add another genre" in Songbird:
I am not sure if this answers your question:
You can select multiple files at once -> Right Click -> Edit Metadata -> and change the genre in the editor (either using the proposed ones in the drop down menu or by typing a totally new one)... Only the edited fields will be updated... so the genre will be saved and the rest of the metadata remains as before.

Clamm replied on March 17, 2009 15:19 to the question "So How Do You Watch Folders?" in Songbird:
Hi again...
Yes you are right... The documentation found in the help menu definetly lacks a lot of information. Will adress this further because at least in my opinion you are totally right.
And yes... GetSatisfaction is Songbirds ear to customers and everything posted in here (like the ideas section) influences the future design. There are several tools which help the Songbird team to deicde what should be done next.
I didnt it explain it properly... You can add music from as many folders as you wish. Just drag and drop them onto songbird. Only "Watch folders" supports one folder until now.
Its not a failure that you manually have to delete ghosts. Imagine a lot of people use Songbird on their laptop and have some of their music on an external drive at home. Starting songbird without that drive shouldnt delete that ghost files, because they're ghosts only as long as the drive isnt connected.
Asking you if you want to import your entries isnt a dump question. Importing takes quiet some time and comparing the entries in large libraries with contained files would also. So its saving resources asking you that question.
It will get better... Stay tuned... ;-)

Clamm replied on March 17, 2009 09:55 to the question "So How Do You Watch Folders?" in Songbird:
Hi there,
Watch folders isnt available for OS X 10.4 but I suppose you use WINDOWS:
In that case the watch folders option should be found under Tools -> Preferences -> Media Importer -> Watch folders...
Anyway. Before you do that you must delete all the entries from your existing profile. Songbird will only care about changes made after the watch folders setting is activated and only regarding a specific folder. So the ghosts would remain in your library if you dont delete them. This also means that pointing watch folders to a folder where already is music wont force an library update.
So import the songs by dragging the folder which contains all your music over the songbird window. (Theres no need for the iTunes importer).
Maybe this helped...
Once again the steps:
1. Mark all your songs in the songbird library and delete them (Maybe you prefer using the excorcist add-on... Depends if really all paths are broken)
2. Add your songs again by dragging your music folder onto songbird
3. Activate "Watch folders" and point to the same folder
Cheerio

Clamm replied on March 16, 2009 08:16 to the problem "Hypem doesn't load properly" in Songbird:
Bad news:
We've already contacted the Hype Machine folks and they seem rather
uninterested in updating their code on the Hype Machine to work with the
Songbird Web Page API. It seems that when they deployed a new revision of their site, the Songbird Web Page API support was dropped. :( We have no ETA on when this may be fixed.

This is unfortunatly a problem introduced by the new webpage from hypem... Web-Playlist is handled also by their code. Hopefully they fix it soon.

IF NOT... please try it once with a clean profile...

As far as i remember watch Folders has different implementations for OS X 10.5 and 10.4 Maybe thats the point...
