Okay, I apologize for the redundancy, but let's try this step-by-step. So you have your file uploaded, and it's on your right panel and your page is in edit mode. Click on the file name (not the file logo). This should move it onto your page. Does it work? – Rachel Pennig, about 6 hours ago

Hi Mike - are you using PBwiki 1.0 or 2.0? Can you give me an example of a file name that is not working? Thanks! – Rachel Pennig, about 6 hours ago

Rachel,
I am using Firefox v.2.0.0.14 on Win 2000 Pro. I have tried it in IE v.6.0.2000.1106 and versions of IE 7, Firefox 2, and Safari (I don't know specific version #s because it's a different comp than I am on right now) on a Win XP Pro machine, and Firefox 2 and Safari on a Mac OS X v.10.4. I have read/write access to one of my wikis and am an Admin/creator of the other.
The hard refresh does not work either.
By the way, thank you for your quick response!

Hi Mike- can you tell me what Internet browser and version you are using? Also, try doing a hard refresh on your screen (hold down shift while clicking refresh). Does this help? – Rachel Pennig, about 6 hours ago

Clif,
When I click on any of the files (or links) on the side nothing happens. Literally, nothing. I have tried placing the cursor in the page where I want the link to be and I have tried highlighting the text I want to be a link and it doesn't work. I have also tried right clicking the link on the side, to no avail. It worked fine for me during the first week or so of using pbwiki but now it no longer works in either wiki I am a member of.
Has anybody else experienced this problem?

This has some really great functionality which I have been wanting with Pbwiki..... Searching capability for uploaded files, a working and robust export facility. I'm going to have a good look at this – Seanmac, about 13 hours ago

Hi, thanks for that. The clip art I was using is WMF. I did download that program, haven't had a chance to try it yet but will later on. – Sarah Ashby, about 18 hours ago

Hi Sarah,
Vu is right but he didn't mention that some clip art file formats don't display in a web page. In those cases, the files won't display as an image but they will attach just like any other file.
Valid image formats: JPG, GIF, PNG
Here's a good article about image formats.

If you need to change the file format of a clip art, you can use a free program like IrfanView.

Clif replied about 21 hours ago to the problem "Why is my page not displaying all the text i put in in the edit mode (i hit save)" in PBwiki:
Hi Kathe,
I'm guessing PBwiki didn't like the formatting from "Bean". Can you tell me what this Bean thing is?
It's best to make sure your text is "clean" from formatting before you place it in a wiki page. Once it's in the page you can format it using the editor tools at the top of the page.
To clean up text from a web site or from an word processor, you can try to following.
1. Paste the text from the app or web page into a Notepad (plain text editor).
2. Copy the plain text in Notepad and then paste it into your wiki.
If you go back to your page that isn't working, you can try removing everything there and using the clean method to paste in the text.
That should solve your problem.

Thanks for adding your comment TechTeach. We will be working on features that will make adding students much easier. I can't promise you when this will be available, but you can keep an eye on our blog for announcements.
