There's a similar issue with games from Valve based on their Source engine. See http://gsfn.us/t/84im for discussion.-

Chris Charabaruk replied on June 08, 2009 20:32 to the question "Same filename, different programs: But Wakoopa figures it's all the same?" in Wakoopa:
The executable may be the same, but the way Steam works, each game is put in its own directory structure, typically:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\<username>\<gamename>
All that's required is checking the file path of the running executable to determine which game is running, and you get to find out who's running it as well, for free.
And while this impacts people playing Source Engine based games from Valve, there are many other applications, more serious ones, which share file names and a number of common resources, yet are different apps. Some level of path comparison should be added to Wakoopa so that these false results are easier to find and fix.</gamename></username>

Chris Charabaruk asked a question in Wakoopa on June 06, 2009 15:23:
Same filename, different programs: But Wakoopa figures it's all the same?Wakoopa is treating the Half-Life episodes (Half-Life 2: Episode One, Half-Life 2: Episode Two) as plain old Half-Life 2. They're different executables, in different directories, but they all share the same basic filename, hl2.exe. Does Wakoopa pay no attention to file path in this case?

Chris Charabaruk shared an idea in Zemanta on April 24, 2009 21:55:
Add TradeVibes and/or CrunchBase widget supportIt'd be great to have Zemanta let me add a TradeVibes or CrunchBase widget for companies and products I mention in my blog posts. Rather than just linking to the company or product in question, I can show off information about them right on the blog! For anyone writing a business blog this would be a great addition since they won't need to fiddle around with other things just to get those info boxes.
Chris Charabaruk asked a question in Wakoopa on April 21, 2009 04:11:
How do I mark releases as stable, beta, or alpha?I noticed that there's now more information about software releases, such as OS and release quality. However, for my programs the information's a bit... wrong. How can I change release quality? It doesn't seem to be in the editor (yet).-

Chris Charabaruk reported a problem in Disqus on April 12, 2009 03:29:
Multiple threads being created for a single page due to alternate URLs to the pageRecently new conversation threads for pages have begun to be generated. These are pretty much tied to having either ?fbc_channel=1 or #comment-XXXXXXX appended to the page URL and not ignored on your end, or because someone has accessed the cached version of the page kept by Google.
So far I've seen no comments appear in any of these, and I've already deleted a few. But this has the potential to cause data loss, and/or loss of reputation for me and other Disqus users. Please figure out a solution post haste.
Chris Charabaruk reported a problem in Tweepler on April 07, 2009 05:44:
Tweepler forgot my followsTwitter tells me I'm following 343 people. However, Tweepler is saying it's only 102, and refuses to recognize the many people who now sit in my unprocessed box as being people I already follow.
Logging out and back in did not cause Tweepler to re-evaluate the matter.
Chris Charabaruk replied on April 07, 2009 04:15 to the idea "Make edit approval list available to expert+ users" in Wakoopa:
To promote moderating behaviour by us high-level users, perhaps also consider awarding 2 points for every edit moderated (whether we approve or toss).
Maybe even add a metamoderation feature a la Slashdot, where other expert+ users can decide if a user moderated properly, boosting the award to 5 points if it was good, or removing the award if it was bad. This would really ensure quality edits if implemented properly.

Make edit approval list available to expert+ usersFor those of us who are expert level and higher, it would be great to have access to the list of edits requiring approval. After all, you've given us the ability to approve edits of others, so we might as well be able to see what needs moderation.

Chris Charabaruk replied on April 02, 2009 21:10 to the question "When will SMS for Rogers Wireless (Canada) return now that Bell Mobility has?" in Twitter:
Up here in Canada, Twitter needs to negotiate with each mobile service provider, more or less independently, to provide their SMS service. There is no central authority for this, and with the way our service providers behave, the only way we can get full service restored for non-Bell customers is if we all bitch at our respective providers (Rogers for you folks, Telus for me and others) and threaten to switch to Bell if they don't stop acting like pricks.
The CRTC won't do anything about it, as SMS messaging isn't considered something that needs to work the same across networks, yet. It'd not even show up on their radar, so complaining to them won't work. All that will work is direct action against Telus and Rogers, and any other mobile provider other than Bell.

I'm guessing you're all on Rogers or Telus? I am having the same issue, which I expressed in greater detail here: http://gsfn.us/t/47w5-
