Just one more vote in favor of post editing. Just today I sent an email check-in from my phone and then posted a photo. However, I'm on Verizon and didn't know that Brightkite had again stopped accepting emails from the Verizon domain. So, the photo posted, but it had the wrong location attached to it (the prior check-in). I'd like to be able to fix it.

Kristin, the edit option is still in the works and it will help to remedy the issues you are describing. Stay tuned for this feature. :) – Lesley, on July 21, 2008 14:47

Id still like the ability to edit old posts and mark them as private, while the new "always private" for a location is awesome, I still have posts from before that I'd rather not delete, but would like some way of marking private so that all posts from my house ever made are private.
The opposite effect, there have been several times in the past where i've forgotten to mark myself public while leaving my house, and would like to mark those checkins/photos as public instead of re-posting and deleting the incorrect one.
Uncle Foobar marked one of Tony's replies in Brightkite as useful. Tony replied to the question "Around Me not showing same information as Me & My Friends".

i'm seeing something similar. firefox 3 final on vista 64 bit. page wont load at all. if i clear cookies for brightkite it loads then i go to log in and i get a blank page. the FF3 error console has:
Error: [Exception... "Component is not available" nsresult: "0x80040111 (NS_ERROR_NOT_AVAILABLE)" location: "JS frame :: file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsSessionStore.js :: sss_saveState :: line 1896" data: no]
Source File: file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsSessionStore.js
Line: 1896
if i look at the HTML source for the page its empty. i disabled adblock thinking it might have been that.

Thanks! the objects.html link works! FYI: The same issue exists when clicking on the "List View" link on the Friends page. BTW, if I haven't mentioned it already, I really love your service. Keep up the good work! – techmonkey, on June 09, 2008 16:54

That helps, thanks for putting it together. It seems that the problem lies in text/xml being the first Accept type. I think we'll have to get creative to find a workaround...for now, try calling http://brightkite.com/objects.html – Martin May, on June 09, 2008 16:42

It took some work but I was able to capture the HTTP request from the N810. Here is what was captured when clicking on "BrightKite Universe":
GET /objects HTTP/1.1
Host: brightkite.com
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux armv6l; en-US; rv:1.9a6pre) Gecko/20071128 Firefox/3.0a1 Tablet browser 0.2.2 RX-34+RX-44_2008SE_2.2007.50-2
Accept: text/xml,application/xml,application/atom+xml,application/rss+xml,application/xhtml+xml,text/html;q=0.9,text/plain;q=0.8,image/png,*/*;q=0.5
Accept-Language: en
Accept-Encoding: gzip,deflate
Keep-Alive: 300
Connection: keep-alive
Referer: http://brightkite.com/people/techmonk...
The only request header that I did not include above was the cookie that was being sent.
Hope this helps!

It sounds like a problem with the Accept headers...is there any way you could send us what Accept headers your browser is sending? Thanks, Martin – Martin May, on June 05, 2008 20:35
