We're still working on a mobile web version for most phones, as the main site isn't optimized to work on mobile devices. The best way to check in from your phone is via SMS or email (check the SMS guide and reference in the help section of the site for more info).

If you tap the static map on a place or user page, it will open the Maps application to the proper coordinates.

We're working on a native iPhone app as well, so we'll be able to support GPS as soon as they add it.

On the privacy settings page you can change the visibility of posts for everyone to "city" instead of "hidden" -- that should send the tweets, but people won't be able to see your exact location.

Yep, and unfortunately there's nothing we can do as it's an issue on Verizon's end.

You can, however, use any SMS command via email to the unique @bkite.com address (shown on the mobile settings page) to get around the problem.

The ? command remembers your last location and searches around that place. So if you were already checked in in Hurst, TX, you could just do "?target" and it would return a list of Target stores near you.

Check your privacy settings. In private mode this is the default behavior, since posts are only visible to your friends.

I believe this is a problem/limit with Flexpay accounts specifically, as T-Mobile usually works fine. You might want to ask T-Mobile about it.

Right now you have to actually check in at a location before posting something. We're working on GPS and triangulation support for various phones so in the future you won't need the manual checkin step.
