As a host, am I supposed to call in or simply utilize headphone/microphone from my computer?

When I did try calling in on the number and Caller ID listed, I then tried calling in at the same time from another land line to see if a participant could come in. From the landline I dialed the same number and pin. It indicated that this pin was already in use. How would a number of people be able to participate?

I am confused!
