A comment on the question "how often are rss feeds updating?" in chi.mp:

My Friendfeed feed takes *days* to being updated (at least 24 hours). And there's an error in displaying the publishing time/date. It says in the feed on chimp that a post "has been updated 30 minutes ago" when in fact it was 22 hours ago, or it says "2 hours ago" when it was published a day ago. My expectation is an update time of no more than 15 minutes and I'd definitely wish for a forced update button. Please check out my page at benkwitz.mp and help me getting more timely updates, because I'd really like to use chimp instead of other pages as my universal profile page (but can't if it doesn't update feeds automatically and correctly in a timely fashion). zilber has point here - but zilber, I hink that train has passed for Vivaty. And JustLeapIn just started introducing Avatars, customization not yet included (but coming soon!)...looking good. I don't think Vivaty can get ahead in this game anymore

Viveka, thanks for your post - this is EXACTLY how I feel and an excellent view of the market and situation. (there is one other promising competitor, JustLeapIn.com, running on Mac and Win: once they get their custom avatars running we finally have a virtual world we all can share)
Vivaty could have been THE web-based virtual space where everybody meets, could have even beaten Lively (they are far worse and also don't support Mac) but they blew it by ignoring the most fundamental foundation a social space needs: compatibility. Too bad.
